You think this is legit? I mean, there was that chocolate commercial where they consulted the Royal British Legion

5689936 yes, it was legit, and too well documented to merely be some rumour spread to enforce "the spirit of Christmas" if that's what you're implying.

In the week leading up to the holiday, French, German and British soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. In some areas, men from both sides ventured into no man's land on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to mingle and exchange food and souvenirs. There were joint burial ceremonies and prisoner swaps, while several meetings ended in carol-singing. Men played games of football with one another, giving one of the most memorable images of the truce. Peaceful behaviour was not ubiquitous; fighting continued in some sectors, while in others the sides settled on little more than arrangements to recover bodies.

and frankly, if it was a made up story, anyone who goes out of their way to say so is a killjoy

5690127 No, I meant about the article. I believe that the Truce happened

5689936 I heard on the radio of how there were dozens and scores of truces between both sides.
