Sure, guitars are important. They add something to music that sets it apart from other forms of art, makes it something special. But if you take out the drum portion of a song, the same effect will happen if the guitar was taken away (if not an even greater effect). Think of them as the soul and body of a person, respectively.

So what are the best drum beats/solos out there?

As for riffs, there are many great ones. Some include

When The Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin

Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who

Superstition - Stevie Wonder

And the only thing I can pick for the best drum solo...

Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight

Andy Hurley

Travis Barker

my favorite at least.

694321 I had the worst time in the world deciding between Moby Dick and Levee.

My vote goes to anything by Buddy Rich.

When The Leeve Breaks?
That's my #1 too, dude. Led Zeppelin songs have the coolest beats, but that whole song takes the cake. One of the better Zeppelin songs.
Also, lol, I'm playing a Stevie Wonder song in my High School Jazz Band.
Soldiers ... keep on warin'
Powers ... keep on Lyin'

Are you kidding?

Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick.

Some of the ones that come to mind for me are

Anything involving Cozy Powell can't be bad, if it all involves him sweetly banging away at his drum kit. Too sad that he's gone and passed on, but I'm reminded of his contributions to Rock and Heavy Metal every time I spin Rising on the TT. Or any other Rainbow song from the three good albums, for that matter.

Simple, yet effective. That beat and those riffs are forever inseparable. At least in my mind.

Again, simple but not in any way fatiguing. Nobody seems to be familiar with this group, and it's unfortunate.

Finally, this one.

Because it's Mike Portnoy. 'Nuff said.

NEAL PEART.

Nuff said.
