Nearly caught up with MLP Gen 5

I only started watching Gen 5 last month starting with the film; since then, I have made it through the special on Netflix and the animated series.

I thought the film was fab, very surprised and impressed, it was more like I hoped the Gen 4 film would be. The plot was more engaging with development and a fun goofy villain that did a decent job with its moral. Also with the music (the reason I started Gen 4 in the first place) Gen 5's film has an excellent soundtrack with Together being the only one I am not fond of.

The special on Netflix was poor in my opinion. I really did not like the plot and the characters only got a little development among other personal issues.

Lastly, the animated series was great, surprised with only 5 minute intervals. I expected there to only be slice of life comedy that would focus on hyper comedy and dilluted characters like the MLP Gen 4 animated series on YouTube, but most episodes were really strong and felt like they moved things along and gave the characters more to them; it also explained some of the special that seemed to come out of nowhere since it turns out I should have watched the series before the special.

Haven't seen the start of Season 1 yet, feeling hopeful.

Any opinions on Gen 5? I'm mostly outside the fandom so don't see many opinions.
