Mercenaries are Magic

Oh, neat, you can set a blog to notify people who are tracking certain stories. That's pretty dang handy.

So, I know that after getting the first really really short chapter and the second somewhat longer chapter of My Little Mercenaries - Nightmare up, I just kinda went quiet this past week or so. I apologize for that, primarily because I had actually intended to have the third chapter up by now already. There are three reasons for why I haven't, however, with one being unfortunate and the other two hopefully being not unfortunate.

The unfortunate reason is that I haven't been feeling that great. Having to work some long, early hours at my regular job lately hasn't helped matters, sadly. So, y'know, wah wah sob story wah.

But on the brighter side, the second reason is that I took some time away from MLM to work on a story for the February Write Off competition contest thing. I can't tell you which story is mine, of course, but chances of winning aside, I hope folks enjoy it.

And the final reason is that I've started working on drawing up a cover page for Nightmare, so some of my time has been going toward that. To see more or less the quality of art you might expect when I'm finished, I direct you to my DeviantArt page. Ta-da. You may decide whether or not this delay is a good or bad thing accordingly.

Anywho, I've gotten at least some writing done on the next chapter in between all of this, and I'm hoping that I might have it up by tomorrow. I am notorious for breaking such promises, however, so don't be surprised if the next chapter isn't out until the day after tomorrow, or next month, or next year. Here's hoping I get something up before the end of the world in 2172, at least. Once I do get it put up here, I'm considering submitting it to the pre-readers at Equestria Daily for possible posting there. Naturally I will be rejected, which will shatter my fragile ego into teeny tiny bits, and I will never ever ever ever ever write anything again.

That's like four evers.
