In Memory of Internet Explorer · 5:19pm Jun 15th, 2022
Today, I honor the life and memory of Internet Explorer.
As I'm sure most of you remember, Internet Explorer was THE most widely used web browser utilized by modern society. It was an awesome and all around cool creation, great to have around, and very reliable, even though it only got 11 updates up until a decade (or so) ago; but most importantly, it was a wonderful reminder of how far humanity and technology had come.
Unfortunately, with the launches (births) of Firefox in 2004 and Google Chrome in 2008, Internet Explorer began to lose its support... and was ultimately murdered by the powers that be; taken from us a mere two months before its 28th birthday... and swiftly replaced by the (frankly P.O.S.) Microsoft Edge.
In light of recent events, I hope that some of the bonds you made here on FiMFiction are important to you. And I pray that this terrible loss will not have been for nothing.
Even though we may live on entirely different sides of this planet we call home, and have very different beliefs and opinions, we are all still human... and we come together by our shared love of the written word.
And even though it was only around for a short time--27 years--I for one will never forget Internet Explorer.
It was the best browser to use back then
I can still remember using it back in computer class...
Holy crap! They took it down?
