I have an important announcement to make: after a long reflection over the course of my past and recent episode reviews, I’ve decided to no longer do those in general. The reason is that episode reviews are a lot less fun to make in contrast to making movie reviews and tv show reviews. Unlike those two categories, I feel like I’m doing a chore by doing an episode review of whatever show I’m analyzing for.
The main catalyst for that feeling is how I’ve been doing these episode reviews for both Transformers: Animated and The Owl House. Don’t get me wrong; I had a lot of fun doing those episode reviews at the time! However, at the same time, they felt like a chore to do...mostly because nearly every episode review had been positive for the most part which consisted of my scores ranging from A-B of whatever category. If every episode is gonna be an A or B, then why not make an entire review of the show I love so much?! That’s how I’ve been feeling lately. Because making positive episodes all the way through will get boring pretty quickly if there’s no bad episode or more to tear down.
Looking back, I feel like I had more fun doing episode reviews for MLP: FIM season 9 because it contained a shit ton of terrible episodes while also having very few good episodes or just “okay” episodes. That was a good balance. Because making just negative episode reviews all the way through would have produced the same boring effect as well.
Unfortunately, my desire to make future episode reviews in general has been extinguished. It was fun while it lasted.
But do not worry, my handsome friends. Something else will take its place. Expect some season reviews going forward on my user page, but only for shows that have a range from great seasons to either bad, decent, or mediocre seasons so that I’m not just gonna review seasons of a cartoon that are all great or perfect. So I hope you guys understand and respect my decision. I apologize if I disappoint any of you.
