The fact that a story about Octavia being a mythical
creature that demoralizes her in every way can get into
the feature box, yet my story about how Vinyl is not perfect
and neither is the rest of Equestria, can't.

I am tempted to write a comedy fiction that is both insulting
to the rich, and really quite monotone.

I've found that the best stories seemingly evade the eyes of the mods.
It's shitty, but most "good" stories don't make it into that little box.
You can only write for the small following you have, making sure that you're content with your work. Doing that is the first step to becoming a "popular" author.

I'm more than content, I have 67 fans and what not
so I really enjoy my work.

But I find it frustrating how so many good authors seem
to be ignored and only the more in line bog standard actually
get anywhere. Makes me feel sick to be honest.

Well, the way I see it, your sickness is wasted.
There's no point on being bothered by how shitty it is,
The mods aren't.... the best at what they do.
If you look at some of the bigger "mature" writers, they have a lot of fun trying to drag down said authors. I mean, look at some of TAW's shit. SOOOOO many mods have hawked her stuff, commenting obscene and overall unpleasant comments.
So write for you, and your fans. Not these mods.
