I watched a Canterlot wedding again after years and man I really love that season finale haha, wish we had seen more about Cadance and Shining Armor in the show itself, especially how Cadance got her cutie mark.
So much missed potential, imagine Cadance getting that very particular cutie mark, catching Celestia's attention, moving to Canterlot and being told about a "lost empire" legend with a princess with the same cutie mark, and how when it comes to the love SHE feels, enemies would always arise.
It'd also explain the sudden return of the crystal empire, since the princess of love "awakened" her most powerful power: her own unrelenting and reciprocal love towards another pony, and Sombra had felt it. His objective could have also been to taint the crystal heart, and thus taining Cadance's love to be able to defeat her, like say he did with Amore.

Ah well, couldn't help myself and drew some fanart for it hehe.

(I kinda want to make a comic about Chrysalis arriving in Canterlot and looking for the source of their protection to plan her invasion)

I love playful Cadance. When Shining proposes and asks Celestia for her blessing, the latter gives it and giggles mentioning an old tradition where princesses had to ask for the blessing of the family they’re marrying into, as a sign of respect for their subjects. Cadance of course wants to do it with Twilight Velvet and Night Light just to surprise them, poor them couldn’t react for several minutes.

(It's kinda interesting to think Cadance wasn't supposed to be an alicorn at first, wish it had stayed that way so the show didn't have an excuse to make Twilight an alicorn as well :') )
