Well, you gotta start somewhere, right?

It's been almost a year since I created my account. I mostly used it to keep track of all the stories I wanted to read. Now I've finished many stories and have even more to read through. In all this time, I never considered leaving much of a mark. I'm not the type of person who comments or engages...pretty much anywhere if I'm honest. But this gets boring after a while and it's certainly not a bad idea to do something. And since I've entertained the idea of becoming a journalist for a while I figured some writing wouldn't be a bad idea. Obviously this is not the same as writing stories, which is the main purpose of FimFiction, but maybe I'll try it once my projects are fleshed out enough.

So what do I plan on doing instead?

Well, I don't think creating a format where you review stories is the first thing that would jump to anyone's mind but that's something I've been eager on doing for a very long time. Of course can that carry the risk of creating an atmosphere if egoism where you put your opinion on a pedestal and think you got it all figured out. That's a mindset I want to divorce myself from as fast as possible. Sure, if I express my thoughts that means I'm also convinced of them but really, it's the internet. Anyone can do it. And it's even easier on this site. All you need are some basic English skills and enough free time and I happen to have both. So...yeah.

And how do I plan on structuring this? The first rule I want to set up is that I won't accept ANY requests whatsoever. I know this might make many people sad but I have way to many stories already and I could never go through any recommendations. I hope I won't have to delete/block any "bad apples" but you can never say how things will develop so I'll just leave that open for the future. The other things I should set clear is how my reviews will be structured. I'm going to be awfully unoriginal for that one since I just plan on ripping of theneedledrops writing style and rating system. Obviously such a behavior would be a death sentence for any journalist. But since this is something casual I do in my free time I don't intend on taking this as serious. All that matters is having fun and I plan on having that. Oh, and I will not have update schedules because there's no way on earth I could hold myself accountable to it.

That's about it for the beginning. Honestly, even if just one person reads this I consider this "project" a success. At first I'll go through my favorites list and work through some of those stories. I don't know when my first real review will be uploaded or how long I intend on doing this. Though should I plan on retiring I'd definitely announce that. That would be all for the beginning. I don't intend on inventing any catchphrases and if I did, I'd let someone else doing it. Bet they could come up with something far superior.
