0/5: MY EYEEEESSS!!!

Hello, my excellent viewers! This is yours truly back with another review! Today, I will be talking about a Mexican animated web series by the name of Villainous! Just about two months ago, I came across this series on YouTube which were both in English and Spanish dubs (since it's a Mexican series). As I watched all the short episodes as well as the Q&A Orientation videos from the series, I instantly fell in love with it. The full richness of the four main characters, the writing, the entertainment, and the animation were all really done well and has become now a new favorite of mine. Although this technically isn't a show, it will be a full show by this October as confirmed by the show's creator, Alan Ituriel. As the title suggests, this mini-series is about an evil organization run by a villain named Black Hat who sells weapons of mass destruction to other villains and commands his three lackeys who appear to be less villainous than him. Although he tries to achieve his wicked goals, a comical failure tends to happen. In other words, this show is all about villains as the protagonists. As someone who loves villains more than heroes, it successfully won me over.

I would like to express my thoughts on each of our main characters and how I feel about them overall. Here we go!

Our main protagonist villain is Black Hat, voiced by Alan Ituriel in both the English and Spanish versions. I really LOVE this character! Unlike some villains I know who are weak and shallow in terms of personality and motivation, this handsome fellow enjoys himself as being evil because being evil is fun. Throughout the course of this miniseries, he is portrayed as a sadistic, narcissistic, spiteful, and cruel super-villain who I guess is a demon or a dark entity of some sort? Whatever the case may be, he has a great character design and personality. I actually like the fact he never takes crap from anybody and can be very menacing whenever he is pissed or upset. Even when he is calm and collected, he always wears that cold frown when things are normal; however, whenever things go his way or does something insidious, he wears that wicked Joker-like smile. He is very serious yet also full of charisma and dark humor as if he is a salesman or a businessman (which he is). He is my favorite character from this series. Look out, boys, Joker and Black Hat are coming your way!

This is Dr. Flug, Black Hat's scientist, right-hand-man, and personal punching bag. This guy is so precious, wholesome, intelligent, and sometimes funny. He may not be one of my favorite characters, but he is still very fun to watch on screen. Although the slapstick comedy involving his suffering from Back Hat for his mistakes and his non-stop bickering with Demencia, I do feel a bit sorry for him at times. It would be nice if he gets at least some love or appreciation from his boss or better yet be given some form of mercy. But hey, his own bedroom is all intact and he is still alive. That goes to show BH isn't completely cruel.

Behold my second favorite character of the series, Demencia! I love her awesome, ferocious, and foolhardy personality as well as her undying gimmick of desperately trying to win Black Hat's affection, much to his annoyance. Although I am not a shipper of characters that much, they do look kinda cute as a couple which almost gives that same old JokerxHarley vibes all over again. She is still better than Harley though, that's for sure. Overall, she is likewise an absolute fun character to watch on screen, and I actually do hope there will be some actual character development and (hopefully) some new chemistry between her and Black Hat. And now, last but not least...

Awwww, what a cute little teddy bear! Surely, this cutie has some form of evil super power he has hidden inside behind all the fluffy cuteness, right? As far as his character is concerned, 5.0.5 is conscientious, kind, loving, caring, jovial, and always vulnerable. Poor bear... he always has to endure Black Hat's scariness and Demencia pulling pranks on him. At least he is always there to lighten the mood of each episode. Who knew Markiplier would be such a BEARable character in this series? ;)

So yeah, I love these characters dearly. They are the highlight of the show, and they always put a smile on my face. Oh, and I never thought these guys basically crossover everywhere on Cartoon Network thanks to those Orientation videos in which Black Hat often gives criticisms and tips to other Cartoon Network villains and shows himself as the overall ultimate CN villain of them all. Once this becomes a full series, I hope Alan Ituriel expands on the universe of Villainous and perhaps give just a bit more background and character to Black Hat. Don't get me wrong, I love his character... but I want to love him more just by further digging into his background if possible.

That's all, folks. This easily gets a 5/5: spectacularly evil!

Peace out!

That's a great show and review! Very well-made. But what about Hazbin Hotel? I know it's just a web-series pilot, but it's still well-made, regardless. You can check it out if you want.

Thank you.

As for Hazbin Hotel, I wasn’t fond of it at first but it is starting to slowly grow on me. I might give it a review soon.

You're welcome and thanks.

Hey Mr. J, how do you review TV shows anyway?
