It's almost July and I'm gonna write a blog

So around this time of year I start to get nostalgic for something that has been completed (sort of) for five years. My favorite fanfic series Savage Skies written by moguera. It's my favorite series on this site and really brings me back. I forget exactly when I started reading it, but I do remember seeing the latest stories end up being featured multiple times.

However a question has been plaguing me for a bit: whatever happened to moguera? They finished the series and said they were going to take a break and then after that just posted a blog review of Shin Godzilla before just never returning the to site. At least not returning often. I remember there was a period of time where they just never logged on for years, and right now with the last time they were online apparently being last August with no word once again I can't help but wonder what came up in their life to demand such a sudden cutoff.

This fandom in particular I've encountered a lot of people who just suddenly stop logging on. Just cold nothing all of a sudden. I had a friend in a roleplaying community that was just great fun, but they logged off and never came back. Not even on their Steam account, and it was just out of the blue. All we knew is he wasn't dead (at least I hope that was and is the case).

There just something sad about this. Especially since in moguera's case they were openly saying there would be more stories in the setting once their break was done. Did they just get so burnt out at the end that they finally just basically quit the site, totally no contact?

There is no conclusion for this blog post, I just wanted to talk about this. It's a damn shame.
