For Whoever is Interested

I'm not sure why I am writing this. I guess I just need to get this off my chest. Or maybe I am hoping for any kind of advice. Whatever, here it goes. Ever since I was 12 I always dreamed of writing my own story. My imagination was captivated by the words of the books I read throughout my youth and they dominated my every thought day and night. I remember wanting to give those feelings of wonder, awe, suspense, and joy to others. To inspire people with my own words as I was once inspired by the words of others. I feel like I have a story to tell. I have poured hours, days, months of my life into developing my own characters and stories to the point where I have managed to create an intricate timeline of events including gods, monsters, heroes, nations, kingdoms, wars, it even goes all the way back to the Big Bang! And yet, every time I sit down to write, I am always second guessing myself. I am never satisfied with what I have written down and it is driving me mad! I have the story down and yet I feel like I can't trust myself to present it in an interesting way. If there is anyone that is reading this and willing to give advice, I'm all ears. And to everyone else, thank you for allowing me to rant and I am sorry if you feel like I wasted your time.
