50 Artist Questions · 8:48am Dec 30th, 2020
Um... I really hope no body minds if I do this for a couple of days. It’s just questions I really want to answer and I have no where else’s to put it.

Do you prefer traditional drawing, or digital?
Digital, as it’s easier to correct mistakes digitally then traditionally.
How long have you been drawing?
Almost twelve years! I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember.
How many classes have you taken?
At school I have art class, but I only started having those when I was in 4th grade. Other than that, I’m mostly self-taught.
Do you have a DeviantArt, personal website, or art blog?
I do have a DeviantArt account.
What’s your favorite thing to draw?
Fantasy creatures! Dragons, unicorns, pegasus, half-human hybrids, monsters, all that jazz!
What’s your least favorite thing to draw?
Humans and backgrounds. It’s super tedious and puts more strain on me.
How often do you use references?
Usually I only use references when I’m drawing something new for the first time. Sometimes it a pose and other times I research costumes and cultures for designing.
Do you draw professionally, or just for fun?
For fun. I don’t consider myself a professional at anything, I know I have a lot to improve upon.
How much time do you spend drawing on an average day?
Depends on the day. Sometimes I spend hours on drawing, sometimes only a few minutes. If I was in school, then it’ll be like 6 hours since I doodle in class a lot.
Are you confident about your art?
Sometimes, not always.
How many art-related blogs do you follow?
...not a lot, mostly Deviants on DeviantArt (if that counts). I follow a good handful on their.
Is it okay for people to ask you about your process?
I don’t mind, but my process is sometimes all over the place, so I can’t give a straight answer.
Do you prefer to keep your art personal, or do you like drawing things for other people?
I like drawing fan art for other people! Sometimes people ask for art, and sometimes I spring it on them without a warning. I just really like seeing people happy when I draw stuff for them!
Do you ever collaborate with others?
I only collaborate with people I know well enough. Mostly that would be people I know irl, but sometimes it can be a internet friend that I’ve bonded with quite a bit.
How long does an average piece take you to complete?
Depends, sometimes it can take my thirty minutes, sometimes it take me up to three hours or more.
Do you draw more today than you did in the past, or do you draw less?
I think I draw much more, as back then (aka when I was a teeny child) I doodle for fun during preschool. Now I doodle for hours in notebooks and make illustrations that take hours of my time.
Do you think you’re justified in giving other people art advice?
No, not by a long shot. But I’m willing to try if they absolutely want my opinion.
What are you currently trying to improve on?
Style and backgrounds.
What is the most difficult thing for you to draw?
Cityscapes, buildings, houses, all that jazz...
What is the easiest thing for you to draw?
Organic things, like animals. Something that has some anatomy to it.
Do you like to challenge yourself?
Yes! Quite often I try to push my boundaries and try new things.
Are you confident that you’re improving steadily?
Mhm! I think I’m improving everyday with each new sketch I do.
Do you draw more fanart, or more original art?
Fanart. I mean, I didn’t even have original ocs until a year ago...
Do you feel jealous when you see other people’s art, or inspired? (Be honest!)
...sometimes I’m jealous. Not very often, but sometimes I go “man, I wish I could draw like that.”
Then I sleep myself in the face because that isn’t a healthy mind set for myself.
Do you like to draw in silence, or with music?
I used to draw to music, but I found out after a while that the music distracted me, so I stopped doing so.
For digital artists: what program(s) do you use?
IbisPaint X!
For digital artists: how many layers does a typical piece require?
Depends, sometimes only four, and sometimes twenty.
- What inspires you to not just make art, but to be a better artist?
My family. I strive to get to a point where I’m happy and comfortable showing my mom my drawings, but I haven’t really met that point yet.
Alright, that’s a lot, I’ll need to sleep-
Interesting
I’d try out this.
