Lore Dump: the Benign Council

The Benign council is the ruling body of the Kingdom of Allerseen. Consisting of six positions, with the King at their head, the Benign Council each hold a different job in the aid of running the realm. Each role comes with a title, consisting of the following: The Lord Martial, the Lord Scribe, the Lord Justice, the Lord Hallowed, the Poet Martial, and the Lord of Hosts.

The Lord Martial is the high general of the royal army, as well as the master of arms of castle Agarwood in the capital of Monolith. The current Lord Martial is Lord Alphaeus Sparra, brother to king Breag.

The Lord Scribe is the administrative hand to the king in terms of day to day operations of running the kingdom. The Lord Scribe also is the court’s spymaster, in charge of a network that spans the continent. The current Lord Scribe is Bronach Khorone of House Khorone

The Lord Justice is the law master and Lord Commander of the Red Sparrows, the elite paramilitary force and royal enforcers to the realm. The Lord Justice also has direct command over the city watch, and is in charge of appointing watch captains for every major city in the kingdom. The previous Lord Justice was killed recently at the Battle of Nidstang, and is temporarily being commanded by Knight Captain Rush Corvo of House Corvo, Mazbeth’s best friend.

The Lord Hallowed is the high warrior priest of the Pantheian religion. Also known as the Lord Druid, he/she is the religious and ceremony leader, in charge of the rituals of the faith, as well as the head of the guild of warrior monks known as the Order of the Hawthorn, which is the sacred tree of the faith. The current Lord Hallowed is Mother Balance, formally from a minor Flock that swore oaths to House Sparra.

The Poet Martial is the court historian/ record keeper, and is the principe of knowledge for the realm. Like previous Lords, though inclined to the pursuit of learning, the Poet Martial also fights in battle, and teaches the art of sword play to young royals. The Poet Martial is also the educator of the royal children. The current Poet Martial is Lady Hazel Wren of House Wren.

The Lord of Hosts is the official title given to the King of Allerseen. The Hosts were the original flocks of Griffons during the formation of the realm, and were all unified under the Sparra bloodline, and its head, Astraeus Sparra. Since then, Sparras have reigned as kings and queens of the realm. The current king and Lord of Hosts is King Breag Sparra of House Sparra.
