...and we're that much closer to seeing chapter 6 published!
The new addition to my draft ended up being a doozy - you're gonna see a lot more character development and back-story coming out, among other things. This new chapter's going to be substantial, so get excited.
Also, hey, how about that new episode? One Bad Apple was quite good in my opinion. The CMC didn't interest me at first - I was pretty annoyed by them during much of Season 1. I'm not sure when I came around - perhaps after The Show Stoppers and enjoying the song there? Who knows. In any case, we've got a ridiculously catchy new song which has been remixed more than either of the songs in the premier, and the antics of the youngins were both hilarious and endearing.
Plus hey, more Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon - can't shake a stick at that, right?
Well, maybe a little. I liked Babs - her character and relationship with the others was well-executed and entertaining. The issue I take is that we already have two existing, perfectly good fillies satisfying the role of bully. Why not choose one of them to learn a lesson? I think that could have been interesting, even if it was temporary. You'd either have a change of heart in one of the stock mean girls, or you'd have a problematic, 'unsatisfying' lesson where the bullying doesn't necessarily stop, and the character that learns the lesson isn't perfect by the end.
More realistic, I think, although less satisfactory to people who expect static characters or stereotypical endings, which is how much of children's entertainment/mass entertainment is styled to begin with.
Anyway, there's a flood of quality foalcon and music coming out of the fandom now, so I can't complain too much, I suppose. Speaking of...
