Hey, everyone! Here is my review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story! I watched this film just a few months ago online, and I must tell you all... I was amazed at the beautiful work that the filmmakers and writers had done for this spinoff. Seriously, I absolutely enjoyed this movie! It has great character development, interesting dialogue, great action, and emotional development for the characters. It is not as epic and fantastic as Revenge of the Sith, but it is still an awesome Star Wars film. So, here are my thoughts on this Star Wars story as follows:

1). Felicity Jones did a wonderful job portraying Jyn Erso as a strong and courageous young girl taking part of the rebellion against the Galactic Empire. I liked how she endured the struggles she went through, the challenges she faced, and the teamwork manifested with the other main characters. She isn’t my favorite Star Wars character, but I still like her in this film.

2). I also was shocked to see all our main characters actually DIE in a Star Wars movie! I was like, “WHAT?! They all die together fighting?!” Since when did main characters or protagonists get killed off in their own movie?! I’m not complaining, mind you. I’m just expressing my amazement at how the writers had balls of steel to kill off our main characters; however, they did it in a way that was honorable and dignified, not hilariously pathetic and humiliating like some I know (smirks at Starscream’s death in DOTM). They fought together till the end with bravery, determination, and a will to fight with the Force guiding them. When I saw the last expressions on their faces before their death, I was so emotional at how it played out. Great writing and character development they all went through.

3). The main villain—Orson Krennic—was... bland and boring to be honest. I wish Darth Vader was the main antagonist since he was the best part of the whole film. This director guy is unmemorable, uninteresting, and needless... what’s so special about him anyway? So yeah, that scene where he meets Darth Vader was SO worth watching; I also loved the part where he forced-choked Orson saying, “Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, Director.” That was legitimately funny since he made a pun. Besides that, I wished we had seen more of Vader.

4). The acting was great, and the soundtrack was great as well.

5). I LOVE the hallway scene where Vader slaughters the Rebel soldiers easily while they try to attack him in vain and tremble in fear. That goes to show you how threatening and powerful Darth Vader truly is. James Earl Jones is just that awesome and iconic giving him such a menacing voice and personality.

6). The story was very interesting and wonderful to look at. You may not the characters at first, but the more you watch them over and over, the more you might get used to them. So overall, this is a splendid film to watch! I rate it a 10/10!

Peace!
