Oriana before Man

Oriana is the easternmost continent of the known of Earthius.  This continent, like the many of Earthius, was not inhabited by man or elf during its entire history.  But what was before the men or elves, before Niln and Equestria, before Callamar, before the Crystal Empire, before the Draeds, Grenans, and Orifrians?  Today we shall discuss that.

Oriana was originally home to giants who lived across the entirety of the continent, but largely in the Northwest of the continent, in Niln and North and South Equestria.  They exist in small numbers today in the same region, though scholars believe they were far and wide across the continent since remains reach to Lakira on the easternmost region of Oriana.

Among the giants were the Orcs, their story is confusing, it is believed they came from below the Iron Ring at the bottom of the world but were supposedly beaten back by the elves of Tironfell.  The Orcs were said to form a tribal civilization that spread largely on the southern peninsular region, mainly in the Southern Delta region.  

In the southern region was also the Zebrican People, they are human in appearance, say for being pale white with black stripes.  They are counted as a bestial race, like orcs and other creatures from before man and elf.  The Zebrican people roamed in the planes of the Peninsular region, this region was very hot and arid yet lush and fertile, especially on the Rianellan River, it is believed by archeologists that the Zebrican people were the first farmers on Oriana, long before the Crystal Empire.

The Zebrican people live on the eastern shores of the Acniss Sea, on the western shores live the Griffons, known by scholars to be the most bestial people on Oriana, the Griffons mostly live in the Acniss region, but supposedly built grand cities across the continent, now abandoned, likely since the Callamarin Conquest of Oriana when they were supposedly killed.

The Griffonians now live in smaller numbers in the south in the Zebrican Lands and Griffonian Empire, one race that is still widespread, or at least their descendants are, are the Olionans, they are considered ancestors to the Orianan Dwarf Race.  They were similar to the short, well-built individuals of now.  One of many differences was that they spent far more time above ground, and didn’t dig very deep.

In fact, archeological evidence shows that they spent most of their time underground in caves, but also built villages out of stone and clay usually at the base of mountains, right outside caves.  It is unknown when, but sometime during the Crystal Empire’s reign over the continent, the Dwarves retreated underground, forming great cities of stone beneath the mountains.  

As I said, Oriana is a diverse continent, between the deserts and savannahs sit thick jungles on the Rivers Jord and Rianella.  Now in this age, the jungle is largely home to wood elves, who live in jungles and forests across Earthius.  But, before wood elves, there was a race of goblin-like creatures known as the Eniks.  They were known for their piglike appearance, blue skin, and pig-faced with long tusks.  They lived in villages in vine built huts atop the tall trees, usually connected with thick vine bridges.  They were said to be able to use magic to form vines into their homes and hunted for the numerous omnivores that lived there using spears made of copper, which leans towards the possibility of either trading with Griffons who had ample copper supplies or having mines of their own.  

Another race was the Satyrs, beings that supposedly inhabited the mountains in North Equestria and other regions in smaller numbers, not much is known about them other than they resembled men as well as goats.

There are numerous animals across the continent, but this was a discussion of intelligent races, so I shall leave those to your imagination
