The Origin: Axonnian Creation Myth

The Origin

Before there was beginning or end, life or death, light or dark.  There was Geriniasisus, the infinite storm a mass of gray clouds filled with blue lightning. At some time a great bolt struck another great bolt and formed the two gods Axonn, God of Kings and Meridia, Goddess of Creation, and Life.  Axonn born with a gold suit of armor and a helmet with blue rams horns.  Meridia was born with a short green dress made of leaves, designed to work with the four arms given to her to create.

Axonn and Meridia bore three children, two sons and a daughter, Morinok God of War, Man, and Glory, Merricknok, Goddess of peace, Beauty, Elf, and Love, and Lithikinn God of Light, Alcohol, and Pleasure.  The combined power of these gods gave them the ability to take Geriniasisus and split it apart into Julioosas at the bottom and Fiurianosas at the top.

Julioosas is the source of all Arcane Magic and Fiurianosas is the source of all Divine Magic.  Upon the separation, each god was given a weapon, Axonn a burning Flamberge, Meridia four crescent swords, Morinok a stone great sword, Merricknok, an obsidian bow, and Lithikinn, a sword of gold. They then crafted Vorihingard, the Hall of Gods, in Fiurianosas 

Lithikinn’s Betrayal

Over time many newer gods were formed, Vildrec God of Knowledge, Arcane Magic, stonemasonry, and Necromancy.  Graneolth, God of Dragons, Fire, Memory, and Age, and Mordicios God of Smithing and Combat.  Merricknok had two daughters with Mordicios, Messiaka, Goddess of Nature and Farming, and Gerina, Goddess of Animals, and Hunting.

Lithikinn grew jealous that had none to lay with, his jealousy took the best of him.  So he gave Messiaka a very potent ale that made her sleep, while she slept he raped her, impregnating her with his seed, this seed would grow into a poisonous berry bush inside of her, upon the birth of this poisonous bush and the discovery of what Lithikinn had done, Axonn crafted a realm known as Vareheim.

He made it unbearably hot and placed the berry bush at the center, cursing Lithikinn with insatiable hunger, upon putting Lithikinn there, he marked him with a red scar on his cheek and revoked his status as a god.  To keep him trapped, Axonn formed Akamir, God of Holy Lights.  He encased Lithikinn and Vareheim, creating the sun.

Earthius is Born

The children of Merricknok came to Axonn and Meridia with a request, they asked for a realm with which they could produce creations.  Meridia granted their request and formed a spherical world known as Earthius.  Messiaka formed the land and seas, creating plants and trees, fruits, and vegetables.  Gerina formed animals to graze on the land, and swim in the seas and streams, but also to eat the animal that grazed.  The gods came down and demanded that they were worshipped and praised by the beings on Earthius.  But the animals could not pray, they knew not of the might of the gods and understood not their words.  So the gods began to build new beings before they could start, an argument erupted between Merricknok and Morinok on what their form should be.  A compromise was made between the two that half would be Human and half would be Elf.  

Morinok struck down the tip of two mountains and the broken boulders became humans, strong hunters, and warriors, weak in magic though.  Merricknok grabbed the vines from trees and tied them into one long rope, cutting them to pieces and into the first elves, they were nimble hunters and formidable warriors as well as being strong in magic.

When they were asked to sing praise they had no voice to sing with, so the men were given deep, booming voices, while the women were given softer angelic voices.  They sang praises every day for centuries.  Meridia split Earthius in half and Messiaka formed great roots that stretched to the Arcane Sea and formed into bundles that became places where men and elves could walk to drink from the cool waters of Julioosas, this was Svalingard.

The peoples of Earthius were immortal and could reach the Divine Hall from their homeworld. The elves and men were distrustful of one another, but they never went beyond glares of distaste.  Until one day when a she-elf named Oirinama began to argue with a man named Freiginshard over who killed a deer.  This argument went from two to hundreds, to thousands, then it became a grand battle between men and elves.

Then as the death toll rose, Meridia came down from the sky in the form of a crystal hummingbird and said:

“Thou hath forsaken the purity of your real, now you shall suffer”

Meridia then split her form into the Eagle God of Destruction Sorigna.  Sorigna turned the sky red and blocked the Divine Hall from view, he then sent massive comets of ice into the ground, flooding the world.  The water that flowed to the bottom froze, forever blocking it off.  The immortality of man was taken from them and they could only reach Svalingard after death, only then can they drink the cool water of Julioosas, which would be forevermore ruled by Vildrec.

In the end, only two islands remained Olmeenia and Tirunngus.  For eighty years there were just the two Mother Islands, then more lands formed, Olmeenia expanded into the grand continent of Katerina, and Tirunngus expanded to become the Island Continent of Tironfell while other continents also formed.  Dalton Shull, Zenisar, Dragos, Dagos, Dagos Minor, Tung Yao, and Oriana were those continents.  

Men and Elf were also cursed so that for thousands of years they would remain as tribes and would only use tools of stones
Dwarves

Vildrec observed Earthius from Svalingard and realized that while men and elves controlled the land above, no one controlled the caves and stone worlds below.  Vildrec used his halberd to draw magic up from Julioosas and shoot it into the stone below Earthius, he formed short and stocky beings thick with muscle, bearing the long beard of Vildrec.  However, they were mere stone figures sitting inside of the caves across Earthius.

Vildrec jammed his halberd into the ground and spoke:

“Go my creations, live in the cave of the world, carve your cities of stone, study below and become holders of immense knowledge, sing your praise to me in your thunderous voices, live in the caverns of the continents of Earthius until time ends”

With that, the dwarves burst to life, and their civilizations would form.

Giants

The creation of giants is long forgotten, words lost and texts destroyed by time, none know of their origins. 

The Hall of Heroes

Very little is mentioned of the Hall of Heroes say for a text from the Six Books of Axonn where Morinok comes to man and says:

“Go now brave folks of my creation, fight and die in glorious battles in the favor of the gods, for upon your death you shall see the everlasting food and drink of the Hall of Heroes behind the moon and that you may march with me upon the last battle”
