Story Revisions: Grammar Fixes and Proper Punctuation · 10:43pm Jul 31st, 2020

Hey, everyone. Just wanted to provide everyone with a quick update on some of my posted stories.

As I began reading through some of my collection, I realized that my stories had quite a few grammatical errors involved that... made me cringe no doubt.

One of the biggest mistakes I've consistently noticed though was my lack of punctuation at the end of parentheses.

Even though I consider myself "great" at English, for some reason I've consistently messed up the punctuation at the end of quotes.

For Example:

"I've been doing it like this" I said.

When the correct way is actually:

"I've been doing it like this." I said.

For some reason, I always thought punctuation didn't go until the very end of any sentence, when the quotes usually are sentences.

On top of that, I've had a lot of tense miscues and some other issues with commas and colons in the past.

Fortunately though, I've taken the liberty of editing several of my works, which you can access with the links below:

Edited Stories:

"Dragon Contemplation"

"The Threads of Love"

"The Cookie Crumbles"

"Spike's Family Journey"

Of course, I've probably still missed some errors - even through multiple rereads - so as always, if any of you notice something or have any suggestions, please feel free to comment on the respected story's section.

Have fun reading! (Twilight'd be so proud of me)

The example you provided is actually incorrect.

"I've been doing it like this." I said.

should acutally be:

"I've been doing it like this," I said.

Notice that the period in the quote has been replaced by a comma. This seems to be a mistake you made in your latest story whenever there's a said tag.

Huh.... I never knew that either. Thank you so much, I’ll have to keep an eye out for that in the future. I’m always learning something new when it comes to writing or grammar I swear.
