You control Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer (known as a Witcher) who is looking for his missing adopted daughter on the run from the Wild Hunt, an otherworldly force determined to capture her and use her powers. Players battle the game's many dangers with weapons and magic, interact with non-player characters, and complete main-story and side quests to acquire experience points and gold, which are used to increase Geralt's abilities and purchase equipment. Its central story has several endings, determined by the player's choices at certain points in the game. That's the WIKI definition.
Basically you hunt for your Ward named Ciri. The wild hunt os after her abilities and your job is to find her and stop them from using her. The story itself is excellent and the world is huge. It has several areas to explore and more than a hundred side quests. I say a hundred but there is easily more than that. The endings that it has to depend on your choices through the game as you interact with the people and the environment. I have replayed it more than five times to see all options and endings. It now has a pair of wonderful DLC that adds more to the world and allows more leveling and item gathering. It's very large in terms of its story as well. You do not need to have played the others but it is helpful to at least know the basics. But it's a lot of fun and has just about everything you ask for in an RPG. Well. That's my opinion anyway.
