    Happy New Year!

Ahhhh, what a beautiful January it is today, I mean it's a little odd I could've sworn January is usually... different? I dunno maybe... it's a special January or something, somehow.

I Wanna Wish you a Merry Christmas

If you don't know where that comes from, a simple internet search can help. Anyway, Merry Christmas to ye all! I'll toss some Christmas music at the end and leave it at that, 'cause I've got plenty left to do.

This is a title, fear me

Apparently I got my wish for a busy year, well not "apparently", because I did, so... uh, you know what? I don't know where I was going with this so I'll karate chop it right here.

    The one Day!

It's coincidental that the one day I was going to log in, fimfiction.net went down, like, seriously bro! At least I can say I didn't miss something that important this time.

Also, uh, hello? Long time no see.

Bet most of you haven't heard this one, yet.

    Is 3D Animation Easy?

Yes and no, personally I've found with Blender since I've been using it for the past four years it's easy to learn, but hard to master, possibly easier for me, because with Blender I already know the UI.

A blog of many words, words that are, words that were, and some words which have not yet come to pass · 12:11am Feb 4th, 2020

I think I'm reverting back to monthly blog, err... things?

Before you ask, no this has nothing to do with LotR, I just suck at making names for my blogs.

Anyway, things have been cool lately and crazy which sort of makes for something I can't describe, which definitely makes sense. I mean, I actually changed my avatar after, what? Two years? That isn't necessarily a good thing though, but neither is it bad (and yes I'll be cooking my CPU plenty more).

A lot of things have changed in 2020, which seems to include me managing to confuse Git to the point were it can't upload changes anymore (I should get a job as a tester of some sort).

I did promise to talk about some of my projects I was working on and the story, but I think I'm going to have to stretch that out over the next three blogs because there is a lot to talk about, I even have a roadmap of sorts (in my head). I bet you thought I was going to cancel talking about it, eh? :D

So, lets get this story started with a now almost dead project that I've almost spent three years on.

Back in 2017 I started making a mod for a game I liked quite a lot (mostly 'cause it was unique in the way it did things) I'm not going to say here what it is, because, well, who cares?

This mod doesn't have anything to do with MLP:FiM, (because I had barely just gotten into the show so, you know) what I will say is that I had become obsessed with XCOM *cough* *cough* (sorry I think something caught in my throat) and well, I saw a ton of potential in making such a mod, although it is/was highly ambitious.

If I were to say everything we planned (yes that's a "we") I'd be here all day writing this and then I might as well just write it as a story and sell it or something. Generally though most of it would be based XCOM 2 though (we were intending to add some stuff from XCOM:EW, but that was a low priority thing).

Most of those three years I spent actually overhauling the GUI (graphical user interface, aka all the buttons you press) and making it fancy not programming stuff, this is in part because the programming language the game used, I didn't know or understand very well, which was problematic.

Of course I did eventually get the hang of the language the game used, but by then development was winding down, to be specific it went from large changes every week to large changes every month, this was in part because I had too many things I was doing at the same time and well, there weren't any 3D models to work with, because we were making 'em ourselves and the 3D modeller (who does a fantastic job, by the way) was far to busy with other things.

As for now? Well, I made the call to put it on an indefinite hiatus (which means we're hoping to return to it, but it's unlikely and we don't know when we would, if ever) early this year (yep) because we have actually started working on a game (which I can't disclose) which requires all of our attention. That's also partly why I haven't been around Fimfiction as much.

So then basically the project is dead, right? Well, no. I will be releasing the source code at some point and I'm still probably going to from time to time update it to work with the latest versions of the game I'm making it for.

And well, idk, we'll see about things.

I wonder how many words that was. :applejackunsure:

Anywho here's your music!

Archie stoof 'dat be good.

Condensing stuff is not fun.
