    Absolutely unproductive today

Spent the whole afternoon napping in a hammock.

I need a longer spring break...

While it's still St. Patrick's day...

Don't know about you, but I've already chomped down on some corned beef and enjoyed a cold Guinness.

A Bittersweet Moment · 4:10am Jan 28th, 2020

As of today, I am officially retiring Dellion.

Dellion has been my trusty laptop of ten years, and a most valued companion.

It has not been an easy decision, but after careful consideration and deliberation, it has been considered best not to upgrade Dellion from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

In the end it was Dellion's choice. While still in pristine condition, it has become more and more difficult to run and support the programs needed for my classes. However, it has now reached a point where these programs have become too taxing for the old systems and, in some cases, are becoming incompatible.

Dellion has held the position since Spring of 2010, so far the longest incumbent. It's predecessor held the position for four years.

Dellion has seen two batteries and a power supply come and go. The power supply office made a gradual transition, beginning in the summer and completing in the fall.

It was decided that Dellion would hold the office until, at least, the official end of Microsoft's support for Windows 7. In reality, Dellion outlived its OS in waiting for the arrival of its replacement.

Dellion will not be retiring alone. Swiss, Dellion's traveling companion of five years, has also been removed from service. Swiss was relieved of duties in a private ceremony Saturday night.

Dellion and Swiss will enjoy a short, peaceful break of cleaning and general maintenance. After which, they will continue to work assist in lesser capacities. Dellion shall continue to serve in matters of recreation, including fan fiction writing, and non-essential digital storage. Swiss shall continue being Dellion's carrying case.
