In a distant Island far-flung from any major continent and far from prying eyes. A city is shown on the large island lit by lights to shine through the darkness of night. Closer still is a forest to the left of this great city, and in it, a faint light is shown. Closer to the light one goes finds a group of people one who is old and six who are young. One of the kids who is sitting on a log next to the campfire asks this old man. ”Sir, may I ask you for the origins of this great country and army we live in?”
The old man with a withered beard and old eyes stared at the kid who asked and scratches his beard. ”Well kid that is a long story so you best believe that we will be here awhile. So, I guess I should start with the founding.” The old man looked away from the kid and into the fire, as if to remember the times past and the struggles with it. The old man then looked up from the fire and started to recount the founding of the Creators Army.
”Let me tell you this young one that it all started with the Great War also known as World War One. The Creator Army was not called that at the time of this war. Instead, it was called the Silver Legion which was a mercenary army for hire from either the Central Powers or the Entente Powers and played both sides to gain money and prestige. Also, they took jobs the general army on both sides would rather not do, thus it was left to the Silver Legion to do it. This though would backfire in the year 1917 with the war coming to an end and the Germans losing to the Entente at a rapid rate.”
The old man paused for a second to remember a truly deadly night. ”The Germans could no longer fund our services, and seeing how little we helped them the German government demanded that we give up all of the money they sent us or else they would wipe us out. Our leader at the time one named Tom Williams told the Germans that they would not do so, and so we prepared for the worst and since we were located in the Rhineland they could quickly mobilize and send a good amount of troops our way. Which they did and attacked in full force with three whole regiments leading the charge and some tanks. They mowed down our front line but we held at the second line so that civilians and our leadership could escape into the backwoods of the town.”
”We were holding but we were taking a high amount of casualties. So, we fell back to the third line with what troops we had left which was about two thousand total from the original four thousand. We had heard by carrier that reinforcements were on the way, but would arrive by morning. Our Captain at the time named Tim Cutler said that we would not hold that long with now enemy artillery trying to get us out of our entrenchment's. So, we charged the enemy we all that we had.”
”We surprised the enemy who has only been advancing and was not thinking about a counter charge since they rolled over us and thought we were easy pickings which they learned was a very wrong statement. A large melee battle started one in which we won. Though we won the battle, we won it at a heavy cost. We learned that a tank somehow slipped through our lines and cut off our leadership's escape. Tom Williams and Abigail Williams died leaving an eighteen-year-old named Willam Heart who was adopted into the family since Abigail could not bear a child, so this young man became our new leader.”
”Willam decided to move our operations to America, but not before taking revenge for the death of his parents by helping the renamed Allies towards victory by helping to cut off German reinforcements and supplies throughout the Rhineland by using hit and run tactics. After the war, our operations moved to America, Great Britain, Japan, and to this what many thought a desolate Island known to us as now as Hope Island. Willam changed the name of the organization to the Creators Army this was done within a span of twenty years.”
Before the old man could continue he noticed the sun was coming up and sighed. ”Well it looks like we have been here longer than I thought we would be. We shall continue this another time now go back to the campgrounds.” The six kids all grumbled not wanting to leave when the story was not yet done, but they did what they were told and picked up their things and followed down a path that would lead to the campground. The old man got up and looked at the sunrise peeking through the trees. ”Looks like a new day dawns, but now I just need to remember the next bits of our history.”
The old man looked back towards the great city with large buildings and great walls. ”Man sometimes I hate to read through so many books.”
