What's wrong with not having a connection to the FiM universe in a story if its not needed?

Hi everyone Haru and Melony here and we've noticed an issue as of late.

It seems that when trying to write a story you need to have "Substantial Interactions" with the FiM world even if your story takes place in said Equestrian Girls universe. Ive been on the site for at least a few days now and Ive wanted to try and make my own story. Only problem is Ive been told I need "Substantial Interaction" with the FiM universe even though I've clearly stated that the story I'm wanting to make doesn't have to deal with it since it takes place in the Equestrian Girls universe. I've read stories from writers like blueeyeswhitedragon0 and others who have done crossovers and they're stories do have some interaction with the FiM universe but its only mentions and such. Never have they gone to the universe of Equestria unless they gave the characters a legitimate reason for going.

So i ask you as a community "Why does a story need to have interaction (even if its Substantial) with a universe if the story takes place in another universe and the story has clearly stated that it was happening in one universe and not the other?"
