All good things must unfortunately come to an end

I rarely have reason to give blog posts. I'm not even sure why I'm bothering now, to be honest. Now that I am, I may as well say my two cents on the ending of FIM.

I honestly don't get why so many people got so apoplectic about the ending. Exactly what about any of that warranted death threats against the creators and made them question why they had been involved all along? The level of overreaction truly does boggle my mind.

The "Discord is Grogar" thing did strike me as a little dumb. To be fair however, both the villainous trio were caught by surprise, and the Mane Six and princesses ripped Discord a new one for his stupidity too. He was called out on his stupidity, so I see no reason to be upset about it.
I would have liked to have seen the actual Grogar, but it's not the end of the world.

Most of rest of the finale was honestly fine to me. Nice epic battle, both villains and heroes working together, etc. It was all fine.

The only things I really have to comment on are the following:

1) I don't see why Twilight moved to Canterlot to rule Equestria. She had a Castle of Friendship, with it's table and seats for all those who would rule along side here already present. It did not require rebuilding like Canterlot Castle did. So why bother moving to Canterlot? To me it kinda weakens the value and point of the Castle of Friendship. It would have been better if she'd continued ruling from Ponyville.

2) I'm not too happy about the Mane Six aging while Twilight remains young. That bugs me. Long ago we were told Twilight would not outlive her friends, but that certainly looked like it would be the case in the long run. This is the thing that probably bugs me the most, TBH.

3) Where the hell are Cozy Glow's parents in all of this? I would have thought we would see them at some point, or at least hear why they're not present. A minor thing, but I figured we would have seen them before the end.

And that's about all that really bugs me.

Why the hell did people get bent out of shape so badly that they felt that death threats were an appropriate action? People may bitch and complain about things not going how they like, or how they hate certain staff members, but to threaten them and their familes? TO make them question why they had been involved at all? I am a misanthrope. I have no love of humanity in general, but I don't get the hate that some people have over this. My mind is honestly boggled.

I am really sad to see MLP:FIM end. It's been a bright point in my life and helped keep me (relatively) sane over the years. I can only hope that it's successor in G5 will live up to it's legacy, and that Fimfiction will be there to host a whole new generation of stories.
