Early annual year in review thoughts · 12:46am Oct 11th, 2019
With the series finale just around the corner, everyone's been talking about how the show has changed their lives and I think I'll jump on the bandwagon and throw it together with my look back on the year I do. So with next month making five years (man, has it really been that long?) since I joined, it's been a pretty substantial ride so far, and a lot has changed this year. The biggest one is that I (obviously) changed my name. After four years of being the saiyan brony, I decided to say "fuck it" and become Nova Blaze since that's my name everywhere else anyway. We also hit two years since Equestrian Railway Tales was published, and no offense to my coauthor, those first chapters are awful. They desperately need a rewrite, but at the same time, it's pretty neat to see the improvements with each chapter. I'm not gonna lie guys, at the beginning, I kinda tried to take over and just shove as much crap in as I could, forgetting in the process that it wasn't even my story. Thanks Asper Pariah for ironing out that little wrinkle. I'm glad I said "fuck it" and sent that PM that started this. A lot of good stuff seems to happen when I say "fuck it" apparently. As for the show, oh man, where to start? I jumped in halfway between seasons three and four, but dropped off halfway through season five. The show itself hasn't changed a whole lot, but the biggest difference it's made is I found this site. Fimfiction has actually boosted my confidence, and I've made some of the best friends a guy could ask for. Honestly, I could truthfully say that Fimfiction is responsible for 100% of my online presence. Hell, "Nova Blaze" was created as a side OC to my Saiyan self I dreamed up way back when I was seven. Nova has grown and evolved to eventually merge with my Saiyan to the point that I have taken the name myself online. Guys, thank you so damn much for being as awesome as you are. It's been one hell of a trip, and I look forward to a whole lot more. Y'all keep being awesome, cause the finale of the show isn't the end of what we've made here. Catch you guys on the flip side.
