Dark Wind

I'm a 29 year old, who grew to enjoy this show in late 2011. Ask my friends, they'll say I'm introverted. However, I know how to be social. See you around!

    BronyCon Vlog Day -1

    July 30th, 2019

The night before, I had slept surprisingly well for a man about to take a long journey to Baltimore. As I woke up at 5 that morning, I took a shower for a while, and then I got dressed. After I got dressed, I sat down on the couch and Just messaged people over on the BronyCon Discord, and a D&D Discord I'm a moderator of.

So I decided to try posting blog stuff. I just moved to new dorms while I live here on campus while trying to pay off my school bill, so I can return and finish my schooling. That's good, I guess. Though, that might be an understatement. The dorms here are more luxurious than I was initially expecting.

BronyCon Vlog Day -1 · 1:00am Sep 26th, 2019

July 30th, 2019

The night before, I had slept surprisingly well for a man about to take a long journey to Baltimore. As I woke up at 5 that morning, I took a shower for a while, and then I got dressed. After I got dressed, I sat down on the couch and Just messaged people over on the BronyCon Discord, and a D&D Discord I'm a moderator of.

I was waiting until 6 for my friend to come pick me up. Unbeknownst to me, he had deactivated his phone. After waiting for a while, I tried calling him. No answer. I started panicking. But just as I started to really panic, he pulled in. As I sighed with relief, I walked down to his car with my luggage, bag and carry-on.

As we took off, I was silent most of the way. I was feeling sort of awkward at the time, because he and I had both wanted to go to BC this year, but he had to work, so he couldn't come, unfortunately. I think we did talk about some stuff, mostly my anxiety about the trip, if I had to guess. Eventually, we reached a gas station, where a 7 AM bus was scheduled to pick people up and drive them to various places in Maine. In my case, it was Bangor.

After he left, I bought a couple snacks for the trip ahead and waited there, anxiously. After about 10-20 minutes of waiting, the bus arrived. I boarded, and took my first sigh of relief. I had gotten on the correct first bus, and now I could relax for a few hours.

It was mostly an uneventful trips, though a few Amish people were also using the bus. I'm still not used to seeing Amish folk, being from Minnesota, so I thought it was an interesting thing at the time. We also got stopped at one point, where some border patrol men checked us to see if we were citizens. I mean, I thought it was weird and new, but I showed him my passport (only ID I have atm) and he let me be.

After that, it was more of the same uneventful trip. Eventually, I arrived in Bangor at the Concord Coach station, and I waited there for a few hours. While I was there, I grabbed something to eat at the Wendy's next door. After I finished my delicious burger and fries, I recall using my 3DS for a while and occasionally chatting on Discord. At around 2:30, my next bus arrived, and after some minor confusion, I boarded the correct bus, on my way to Boston.

On the way, I played on my 3DS some more, while occasionally looking over at the movie that was playing. I think it was some Bollywood film or something. It looked interesting, but I didn't bother plugging in my headphones to hear what the movie was really about. My memory cuts out a bit here, but I remember being anxious about reaching the Boston bus station.

You see, I had been worried about missing the train, because I didn't know my way around the area, or the station. I had a terrible return trip from last year's BronyCon, so I was expecting the worst. However, it turned out to be alright, as I'll tell. From the bus station, I had to feel my way to the Boston Train station, which was next to the bus station.

After asking around, I eventually found my way there, my walk there, taking me outside. It was interesting. My walk took me right next to the trains themselves. At the very least, I was assured I was heading the right way after seeing those tracks.

I eventually found my way to the Amtrak station and got a tag for my luggage. I ran into a worker who offered to take me and my luggage to the train early. I was delighted, because I didn't know where the hell I was going. So he walked me and a few other people to the Amtrak train, and he showed us inside. Afterwards, I tipped the man for easing my unease. At that point, I let out the penultimate sigh of relief. I was on the train, and finally, my next stop was Baltimore.

On the train, I chatted on Discord for a bit longer, before plugging my phone in and trying to get some sleep. I got some, on and off, but I didn't sleep well. I was paranoid about whether or not I'd sleep past my stop. In the end, I stayed awake for most of the ride, and I got very little sleep. Eventually, though, I did arrive, at 6 AM, on the 31st. That's a story for another blog, however. I'll save it for next time. I hope everyone here enjoyed it, and I hope to make another one soon enough.
