Hey kids, happy Pride Month! · 9:44pm Jun 1st, 2019
As you can probably see, my current icon is the transgender pride flag, with the snake from the Gadsden flag and "don't tread on me" on top. I have decided to reclaim the symbol from the various conservative groups like the Tea Party who use it, as they don't deserve it. The snake is a symbol of revolution and change, which is kind of the opposite of what conservatism is about. It's "conservative"; things stay the same, or go back to the way they were before. Which includes less-than-friendly attitudes towards the LGBT+ community.
So this is my middle finger to those kinds of people. I actually made a ton of icons with different pride flags and the Gadsden snake. I'd be happy to send them to y'all for use, as long you credit me for making it.
Blessed be
Elaborate. As from what I view of conservatives there is virtually no contempt for the LGBT except from those who are truly radical. No from what I see, the purists that you seem to be speaking of are not in control of conservatism anymore. Maybe once upon a time there was merit to your words, no longer, while those people still exist, they are not holding the reins. But please, if I'm not seeing something do correct me, the last thing I want to be is wrong where it matters; in facts.

How's the President as an example? You say that such people no longer hold the reins and yet look at who's in office. Sure, he might make a tweet saying he supports gay rights, but look at his policies and the company he keeps, and you'll see exactly what he thinks of us. Here's a decently in-depth look at just how much he actually cares about LGBT+ people.

well this certainly is a lot of information to digest, with all there is and the multitude of sources, I suspect it is going to take me a while to read through it all, check sources for credibility and bias, check information for authenticity and how well it matches up with other reporting on the subject, do my own research, then either debunk/confirm and if the latter reflect on the information and conclusion. One way or another, I suspect I there will be something to learn in all of this, so for that, you have my thanks.
PS. Wasn't he also working to try and push for the decriminalization of homosexuality in countries that still stone them to death? Pretty confident on that one but again correct me if I'm wrong.
