"Cost", or how I learned to stop worrying and learn to love the cheap attempt at humour.

WARNING, HEAVY SPOILERS FOR THAT STORY I WROTE AND STUFF

Hey. How's it goin'.

If you're here, it might be because you're angry/upset over that silly twist in my story, and wanted to know who the hell would pull that crap.

Or you... You know. Enjoyed it. Not sure which it will be, but I'm hesitant to say the latter. If I'm wrong though, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

If not, well. At least it was short.

Anywho, I just wanted to say a few things about this story. First of it started as a silly notion that came into my head when I noticed the disproportionate amount of eyeliner on the princesses (sans Luna). In Celestia's case it makes sense from an artist/animation point of view, as her near-white coat would make it hard to differentiate between it and the eyes.

Cadance has no such excuse.

This, in my own twisted but silly mind, led to the idea of them two freaking out over a lack of their favoured form of make-up. Which in turn led into the possibility of becoming a joke under the pretence of a serious short story; a trick used by a comedian I've long respected, Dave Allen.

So that led to me actually doing something I have little to no interest in doing, nor do I believe I have any skill in doing. Writing. I cannot write worth a damn, and anything I do write is condensed so much that it turns a story that could easily have been padded out to ~4k words into around 1.7k. It's just what I do; make the point and move on. Even this story under 2k words was a huge amount of effort for me, trying to get that amount of writing took a lot longer than it ever should.

And then came the editing. It was a mess, so I got a couple of friends, plus a proofreader native to the site, to give me a hand making this overblown joke legible.

So yeah. Blame those guys. (<3)
