    Happy St. Patrick's Day🍀☘️

Currently doing a bar crawl in Downtown (ok so we started in Corktown and are making our way through any good AVAILABLE bar today) with some friends and a couple of co-workers of mine, who we unintentionally ran into. Turns out great minds think alike! Ironically I'm the "Uber Call Girl" tonight so...unfortunately can't get TOO wasted (plus I actually have work tomorrow...couldn't call off).

Africa A to Z Facts!: Day #4: "D" · 10:04pm Feb 4th, 2019

It continues my friends! Let's get into our next letter:

D is for....Doll!

*Dolls can be from varying countries in Africa.
*In ancient times, dolls were used as spiritual aides, fertility aides as well as a common child's play thing.
*Depending on which country you're in, in Africa, odds are you've seen a doll with dark skins, and beads of some kind with a luxurious looking cloth upon it.
*In 1973 the "Malibu Christy", friend of "Malibu Barbie" made her debut as the 1st black Barbie doll.
*The trend of making fashion rolls of different races started around the 80s with the "Black Barbie" dolls lining toy shelves.
*This writer has owned her fair share of "black dolls" over the years, yet the one I truly doted on for the longest time was an old black rag doll I had got when I was 4 and had until I donated her at age 13. She had a pretty pink and white gingham dress and bonnet with black dress shoes and white stockings. Other than that, looked like an ordinary rag doll.
