A Call To All Writers In Massachusetts · 10:13pm Sep 23rd, 2018

Hello to all Writes In Massachusetts,

I am writing to you to day because I wish to make a friend of mine feel better.
I Let me be clear that I great appreciation for nursing and their profession, I work with them as well but I just trying to help a friend who is terrified the he is going to loose his job. You see in Massachusetts there is going to be a vote for a ballet question know as Question 1.

https://ballotpedia.org/Massachusetts_2018_ballot_measures

The ballet Question is about setting patient to nurses ratios. While that in it's self is not a bad thing it is the fact they will have to hire more nurse to make those ratios. In doing so they will need to pay those nurse salaries, they also have hefty fines if the ratios are not met to the letter, the fines are between 25,000 to 50,000 dollars. It is estimated that it cost a one time cost of 1.4 billion dollars for the first year and then almost 900 million dollars for each each following year. While for big hospitals will not be as heavy hit by this while devastate small, critical access hospitals, forcing most to close with in two years or less of the bills passing.

The bill was made to help with patient care but it only looks a the nursing side and not Doctors, Med- Technicians, Lab-Technicians, Medics, House Keepers, Engineers, and Ambulance Drivers, but with the need for so many nurse they will not bother to hire them. Then there is the fact that 1% of hospitals in Massachusetts use of their income to update their technologies. They will also be unable to keep many of their services that they provide to the community.

While my friend would want me to say to vote NO on Question 1 it is not my place to tell you how to vote. I proved only some facts to you and while they are just one sided, I hope that you will look for yourself and make your own mind on the subject.
Thought I will be voting No on Question 1 for my friend peace of mind, he is a nervous wreck right now. Pleas don't judge me.

Thank you for your Time
