Jacobs Fanfic Readings: "Little Macs Hero" by Maran (feat. 4 VA guests)

After I added this fic to my collab chart, one of my friends on Skype Jaywalk offered to voice Little Mac for me, and sent me files for it not too long after I added his name next to role on the chart. Since I previously had StarryFlame voice Pear Butter for "Stay with Me," I thought I'd approach her again for the role. Since I didn't get a response after some time had passed, I thought I'd bring up needing a Pear Butter voice again in a Skype group. My friend SpeedyTempo suggested TrueSailorComet to me, and I brought this up to True, and after True sent me her files, I was impressed at how well she voiced Pear Butter too. Izzy Fizzy also previously voiced (adult) Applejack for "Door to Door," and I approached her for Filly Applejack for this fic, and she accepted. And finally, I approached Illya Leonov after hearing him voice Grand Pear for Scribblers comic dub of "The Life I Never Had," and he accepted as well. As for the fic itself, I liked the idea of Pear Butter reading Big Macintosh and Applejack a bedtime story when they were a colt and filly respectively, and how Big Mac (or "Little Mac" in this case) wants to hear a story with an earth pony hero to look up to. There's also this line:

“All right, I see your point. But what about the story of Mattie Hoss and Cog Burn bringin' the murderin' outlaw Chainy to justice? Now them were some heroic earth ponies.”

For those not in the know, that line was a reference to the classic 1969 John Wayne film "True Grit" (though this could also apply to the 2010 reimagining that stars Jeff Bridges), and I thought that was a nice touch to this fic. Overall, I had fun reading this fic, as well as adapting it into an audio reading.
