When it comes to the non-canon characters in my stories, I take inspiration for how they are from my own experiences in life or from characters that I know in tv shows and movies and whatnot.
Regarding Anti-Stardust's role as of right now in "Darkness Rising", his storyline is similar to Zuko from Avatar after deciding to change from the bad side to the good side: in Anti-Stardust's case, he doesn't want to be the bad guy anymore because of what Xenos has done to his friends, as well as not being able to kill Casey or Stardust's Twilight when he had the perfect opportunity, and seeing what's become of his own self.
The scene above is what I based the scene where Anti-Stardust talks to the Mane 6 from AJBS Stardust's world, asking for help in saving his Twilight from wherever she's at, but they're not exactly ready yet to have any kind of trust in him because of what he's done in the past.
