My Take On: If Ponies Have Theme Songs · 11:43am Mar 13th, 2018

This is my take on the "if x (x being a list of a franchise's characters) had theme songs", except obviously for ponies.

MANE 6
-Twilight Sparkle: Sky Full of Stars- Coldplay. I dunno why, but Twilight's first name is a sky (namely the sky between day and night, at around sunset) and her cutie mark is a star; two elements mentioned in this song :twilightsheepish:
-Rarity: Me Too- Meghan Trainor. Perfect for Rarity's narcissistic, vain personality raritywink: :twilightblush:. The song and the pony are more of a match than anyone else of the Mane Six.
-Rainbow Dash: Mighty Wings- Cheap Trick. Sorry, had to :twilightblush:. Rainbow Dash's love of flying, and a music from a movie about flying. Besides, the lyrics have some words about not caring ("goes around the sun, doesn't mean much to me....." ".......... No points for second best....." (Rainbow Dash hates losing), so this more than nails the song choice for me.
-Pinkie Pie:We Like To Party- Vengaboys: Yep, what's better for a party pony than a song about partying :twilightblush: :rainbowlaugh:
-Fluttershy: Sometimes- Britney Spears: The reff part (listen to it yourself) fits her character perfectly- shy, but wants nothing more than be shown affection even if she sometimes doesn't want to admit it.
-Applejack: -Coming Soon-: No idea of a song for her. Tell me down below in the comments if you have an idea.

THE PRINCESSES
-Celestia: Beat Of The Rising Sun- Dave Rodgers: Yup, an Eurobeat song. Despite the song lyrics having nothing to do with the sun (actually, the lyrics contain "The Power Of The Sun" but it's the only one that connects to our regal solar lady in any way :twilightblush:). And, apparently, Celestia would have liked Japan (hint: their national symbol)
- Luna: Queen Of The Night- Whitney Houston: Okay, this one was an idea I took from RHJunior's Nightmare Night and Nyx, from Chapter 25 when Luna puts on a ponified version of the costume Whitney wore in the music video, and sings the song in FULL ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE with Nyx singing as backup ("mini me"). The result: ponies either gaping in shock, laughing their plots off, or dancing along
-Cadance: Venus- Bananarama/Shocking Blue: As the Equestrian equivalent to Venus, Cadance fits this song like she fits a gala dress (Shining Armor, you lucky bastard). The only mismatch is in the song, which describes Venus' eyes as black (Cadance has purple eyes), but other than that, the song about the love goddess is perfect for Equestria's love goddess.

FAMILY MEMBERS/COMPANIONS/OTHER PONIES
-Shining Armor: Some Guys Have All The Luck- Rod Stewart: Nothing particular to him in the lyrics, but this can perfectly describe our reaction (or at least mine) upon seeing Shining Armor's wife- with all due respect, he's lucky to marry a total-knockout-in-terms-of-looks-of-a-Princess (and as a bonus, she's also a total sweetheart) and sometimes we wish we had his luck with mares with real-life girls or women (well, not me at least, but
-Feather Bangs: Smooth- Santana: Really, Feather Bangs screams "Latin Lover!" for me, and so does the song (it feels vaguely Spanish). Besides, a swooshing-hot song like that is likely to be in Feather Bangs' character of charming mares.

OTHER SITUATIONS:
-Wonderbolts Academy (Season 3 Episode 7): Danger Zone- Kenny Loggins: What's better than a Top Gun-inspired episode? A Top Gun song to go along with it!
-Reflections Arc: The One That Got Away- Katy Perry: POOR CELESTIA :raritycry::raritydespair::pinkiesad2::fluttercry::fluttershysad:. The song perfectly fits her experience in that arc (which is also a major reason I have not let Starswirl live it down for playing a role in the outcome). Just replace "post highschool romance" with "inter-royal romance" and you've got a song that fits the arc like an evening glove.
Arguably, this arc was the reason I met my pen-pal, Henry101, via his story "To Reassemble A Broken Heart". I also argued with him that Celestia is a lot stronger emotionally than Superman (at least the Injustice version), because he snapped and crossed the line after one (admittedly, tragic) tragedy, while Celestia has suffered who-knows-how-many throughout the millenia of her life, and yet remained the regal sweetheart we see in canon.
