Three Pony Raps · 8:14pm Jan 8th, 2018

On top of my workload at work and trying to keep up with all my current and future stories, I'm also learning and practicing the art of hip hop. This has involved turning an extra closet of mine into a sound booth, using all the fanciest settings in Audacity, and staring puzzled at beat software, but every so often I'll take a couple hours and actually make a new track. Right now I'm working bit by bit on my third release, The XK-CD, but I've made a few pony-relevant songs in my career; some of them are old enough that I'm not going to inflict them on you.

Not the horsiest song I've made, but I've always loved Madhouse for Equines for bringing real craft and imagination to something as outwardly silly as pony horrorcore, and their beats were amazing. I'd like to advertise this by saying I managed to fit Mothman, Arthurian lore, The Whisperer in Darkness and ponies into a single verse.

I really loved voodoopony's take on Waltz for Trixie, and when I realized I could sync the 4:4 there to the 4:4 it takes to rap something (which I realize is a discovery on the level of learning how to tie my shoes for anyone who plays instruments or make music) I wanted to do a lot of imagery that I thought would suit her. It's poetic, innit.

The first thing I recorded with my new Christmas microphone, and actually about my stories here! This one comes from the heart, although the title's just something I overheard a friend say; truthfully, making things is the number one priority in my life, even if they're completely ridiculous things, and I hope I got some of that across despite having to rush it out.
