I'm Writing Again! · 4:27am Dec 24th, 2017
Good news, dear readers: I have returned to fine writing condition again! During my time away I did some serious thinking about the latest chapter of "Sweetie Hell" and hit upon the true source of my creative woes. Turns out the problem was much simpler than I thought, and it is a rather easy thing to remedy. Ultimately my trouble boiled down to a single character whom I had planned to introduce into the story with the Circle of Fraud. I was so taken with the idea of this character being in the narrative that I hadn't given any thought into how to make him compelling or worth reading about. As I continued writing his dialogues, I noticed that the quality of my work fell, and with it my desire to keep writing. I spent much time agonizing over this one singular problem, trying to force the story and my abilities to make this character worth writing, but it was to no avail. Then it hit me just yesterday; the chapter sucks because of this one character I can't write, so let's strike him from the narrative. Then it hit me again; instead of completely removing him, why not give him a brief cameo? He doesn't have to speak or do much beyond getting noticed by the main characters, and then I can move on with my life. I preferred the latter option because a part of me still wanted to have this person in the story, but if I tweak him here and there I don't have to worry about making him interesting in any way.
So, I did just that, and I have written substantially more in one hour than was attempted during my time away. Chapter eight is not complete, but I anticipate that it shouldn't take long to be finished. I am super eager to get back into my writing again, and I can't wait for you guys to read what's next in store for Sweetie Belle as she traverses the eighth Circle of Hell.
PS: Thank you guys so much for your patience.
