Rant about Clopfics

Now, I've been on this website for a long time. When you experience a lot of one thing, you notice patterns.

So, what did I notice? There is almost always at least one clopfic on heat (no joke intended).

Before I say anything against the "stories" that are clopfics, please note that I am not attacking you if you like or have made clopfics before. This is simply an anger with the system and the popularity of it.

(Also, I deem clopfics as stories in which the only purpose is to show sex. If a story has some sex scenes in it, I do not necessarily call it a clopfic, but if it has sex as a tag and is a one-shot, you can bet 90% of the time it is a clopfic.)

As I was saying, clopfics usually appear in high numbers for the popular section. I could look past clopfics every once in awhile, but when those stories are favored over ones which actually have merit and an actual story, I get pissed off. Here's my problem with clopfics: they are not stories. They are just written pornography. Am I saying pornography is bad? No, but what is a common theme in pornography? Absolutely zip story or a ridiculously stupid one if there is any. So, what does this all mean?

This means, where as people try hard to make good stories (yes, I could make a list of people who have great ideas and great stories that could be featured) that appeal to a wide group of people, the people who make detailed porn can reap the attention of thousands in a day without having to make a driven story. On a website where we try to inspire people with fun ideas and executions to thousands of people, these 'anti-stories' as I like to call them, get way too much spotlight.

I'm not blaming the authors of clop-fics (unless that is all they make), but simply the system that benefits the opposite reason the site exists.

Rant over. I may regret saying this, but I needed to get it off my chest.
