Who could voice Grogar in Friendship is Magic? · 10:20pm Sep 18th, 2017

For those not in the know, he was basically a goat necromancer and, like Tirek, is one of the most popular G1 MLP villains. In that show, he was voiced by 80s voice actor Michael Bell:

And given his name being mentioned in a storybook in A Flurry of Emotions, like many fans, I'm hoping we'll see him at some point in a future season. I mean, they brought back Tirek, so why not?

And much like Tirek, to separate him from his original incarnation, they rewrote his character and hired a new voice actor (Mark Acheson) to voice him. And that got me thinking:

Who would I choose to voice Grogar in Friendship is Magic?

For me personally, it comes down to three choices:

Keith David

Without a doubt one of the most chilling voices I've ever heard. It practically screams "threatening, make-you-shit-your-pants badass you don't wanna mess with". :twilightoops:

Tony Todd (skip to 1:05)

I don't care if Transformers 2 sucked, this guy was fan-freaking-tastic. Whenever I think of the words "ancient evil", this is the kinda imposing, sinister and gravelly voice I'd expect to come out of it. :rainbowkiss:

Clancy Brown

Powerful. Diabolical. Charming. Malevolent. Smooth. Sophisticated. Intimidating without having to raise his voice too much. Eeyup.

What do you think?
