From the Notebook DC Crossover Idea: Doctor Fate

Here’s another idea I wanted to get down after a very busy day. It’s another DC Comics crossover that I don’t think I’ll ever try to work out.

This one is about Doctor Fate. The sorcerer supreme of DC. The Lord of Order. The guy with the fancy gold helmet.

The Great Tabloid Disater: Deleted Scene (From Chapter 2)

This was originally going to be in chapter 2, and I’d written it to completion, but my proofreader, the ever-talented Setokaiva, told me it was unnecessary when combined with the other scenes, and I saw his point. So, I took it out and edited bits and pieces of it into the remaining scenes.

I hate humidity · 2:37am Aug 16th, 2017

I do. I really do. It's the bane of my existence right now. If this comes off as odd, well, yeah, it is.

I've been trying to get into DC's Rebirth line. I've been getting trade paperbacks. But I've been having THE WORST LUCK. Why?

HUMIDITY!

I started with an order of five books. FOUR out of five of them had wavy pages, aka humidity damage. Four books I returned for replacements, and returns aren't easy for me.

Then I got replacements on those four. TWO of those were okay, some mild wavey pages, but you could miss it. The other two? Distinct curves. I finally looked it up and found a possible way to fix it, and I just checked. Seemed tolerable for a while, and then I realized that the waves were STILL coming back. So now I have to return those, along with another single trade I've been trying again and again to get.

Of course, the usual humidity cures for books doesn't work so well on glossy paper, heavy paper, or art paper, which is what comic trades are. It's because the books are sitting there in the humidity that's been so high lately. And it's so frustrating.

I just want copies of these books to read, and I don't want to be chained to times of year. And I was REALLY hoping the method I found for pressing down the books into shape would work so I could fix it if it happened again. But no, it didn't. So I have to keep trying and trying and trying. sigh.

Still working on A Tale of Two Suns. Really close to being done with the next installment. Until then, well, I've got more returns to make.
