Top 30 Favorite Pokemon · 9:16pm Jul 14th, 2017
30. Espeon. Sometimes the weird Pokemon appeal to me, and this one is a very nice color. It looks alien and reminds me of the symbiotes from the ps1 Spider-Man game.
29. Sudowoodo. This one's memorable as it's a one time chance to catch it, and it's a tough little guy.
28. Onix. A badass design, plain and simple.
27. Butterfree. A bug design has no right being as charming as this.
26. Charizard. All boys like dragons.
25. Marill/Azurill. A charming design. I want to protect it more than anything else.
24. Swadloon. The way it's wrapped up is rather soothing.
23. Meowth. I've been using Meowth/Persian in Pokemon Sun. They look quite good in 3D and I've found them useful.
22. Minccino. Cute.
21. Pikachu. I watched the cartoon when I was about 6 or 7.
20. Carracosta. I like Pokemon that are tough and can use surf.
19. Nosepass. Fan favorite! I kid, I kid. This one sure is ugly. But I like it anyway. It's just so strange. How is it alive?
18. Eevee. Cute.
17. Persian. See 23.
16. Krokorok. Sandile never had a design I liked, but I gave it a shot during my failure of a Pokemon Black Nuzlocke run and found it surprisingly helpful in getting me as far into the run as I got. Very helpful in getting through areas with sandstorms. I think I like the middle evolution best.
15. Oddish. One of the most charming designs. I feel like you could accidentally step on it.
14. Zubat. I've always had a strong urge to try and make this difficult to use Pokemon useful. The idea of winning long, strategic battles might be tedious in practice after a bunch of them, but it's fun to think about.
13. Purrloin. I like purple and I like cats. I also like that Purrloin seems just a bit evil.
12. Togetic. It's powerful psychic abilities were of much help to me in SoulSilver, the first Pokemon game I beat.
11. Audino. I can't explain why this one is so charming. It sits in between the cute and weird zones.
10. Ledian. As I said, SoulSilver was the first Pokemon game I beat. I tend to love healing magic in RPGs. At this point, it hadn't dawned on me that items always go first and that you get tons and tons of money in Pokemon, so when I saw a Pokemon with a nice design and Roost, I was in love. On that note, I also discovered how much I like Attract through this Pokemon.
09. Luxio. Spyro the Dragon is one of my favorite games, and this guy reminds me of Spyro. I also found him very useful in Platinum.
08. Skitty. Perhaps the most purely lovable design. This Pokemon seems to be in love with being loved. Simultaneously calm and chipper.
07. Lucario. Perhaps the most badass Pokemon.
06. Farfetch'd. I"m a very single player guy. I never trade Pokemon with other people. But it's occasionally possible to trade Pokemon with someone in game and get that exp bonus. I got Farfetch'd in X and if I recall, it is the only Pokemon I've ever gotten to level 100. It helped me out a lot.
05. Aron. Tough as nails.
04. Litleo. One of my most useful and lovable Pokemon in my Nuzlocke of X. Shame it died.
03. Ferrothorn. As I mentioned with Zubat, I like the idea of using Pokemon that have trickier, more strategic moves, but those Pokemon tend to be weaker. Enter Ferrothorn, who's part Steel, and my most useful Pokemon I had in Black 2.
02. Slowbro. Tough but easygoing, a Pokemon who can take a lot of abuse. My most useful Pokemon in Soulsilver.
01. Snorlax. One of my very most useful Pokemon in my Nuzlocke of X. Plus, such charm. It's so big yet so careless. Snorlax constantly seems distracted. It's as much an island as a living creature.
Edit: My friend sent me an old Pokemon favorites list I made. Lapras was really high on it and I don't remember why, though I have always liked it. Nidoking was also on there and I have no memory of liking Nidoking in particular. Espurr was on there too. I think I used to like its design more than I do now. Syleveon was on there as well. That's a design I like, but it's no longer top 30 material. If I made the list now, I'd put Lapras at 13th, but I wouldn't have much of an explanation.
