Back to Ponyville, Spike still wonders if he should accept the Mane 7's friendship. Ember explains that it is dangerous to face the enemies alone. Spike disagres, saying he survives alone before. Ember warns that he needs to level up more to clear the stages.
Mane 7, Spike, Ember and the CMC explore Dragon Stage as they level up. Spike forces himself to level up by facing more dragons. Twilight Sparkle worries about her brother as she asks both Rarity and Ember to look after him.
Unknown to them, Garble visits Spike and tells him to join his group, the Dragon Clan. Spike refuses because he prefers being a lone fighter but Garble tells him about how powerful Dragon Lord Torch is. Fortunately, Ember and Rarity finds him before he could gives his answer.
The Mane 7 along with Ember, Spike and the CMC arrive at the boss room. Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer brief about the plan how to take down the Dragon Lord. They face Dragon Lord Torch and fight him. In the hetic battle, DL Torch scolds Ember for siding with ponies. Ember tells her father that Spike believes in ponies and she wants to learn to believe too. Dragon Lord looses his temper and attacks the Mane 7 especially Spike. Spike struggles to fight back and manage to cause injury towards the Dragon Lord. DL Torch roars in anger and launch his greatest attack towards Spike. Ember jumps and takes the attack and disingrated. Spike roars as he changes into his adult form and uses his attack to defeat DL Torch.
After return to Ponyville, Spike agrees to join the Mane 7 but they won't becoming friends.
