Update

Hello, readers of both my stories, one finished and unedited and one far from complete. And possibly some random visitors from comments I've left or just someone snooping around my home page. This blog post is in regard to my latest story, which has lain dormant for about four score and seven days, give or take a fortnight or more. But there is something relevant to the other story as well, so keep reading, those who decided against following a story tagged "dark" and "human." You just possibly might have a treat in store, depending on how I do on keeping a schedule. This I write past midnight with the bare minimum of clothing on and the need to return to bed strongly coursing through my veins.

I've been needing to write, to interact, to communicate, but I failed to keep up with my stories. The original inspiration for H. P. & H. ended before I had a chance to really get rolling and plotting a path for the plot to plot. You followers may have hoped for some time that I would come out with the next update to it. If the words would have come more easily, I would have granted your wish. But I am not a hard worker right now. My gumption wasn't enough.

Unfortunately, this story is dead. I will answer any questions relating to it and the connections it has to other stories, finished or not-yet-written, in the comments here and on the story itself. I don't want to leave you completely in the dark, not at all. Be my guest. And before you ask, the whole reflects many aspects of my headcanon, but isn't headcanon itself.

I kept hoping I would finish the story, but I had no real idea what would make it fly, and the seriousness of the material made it much harder to come up with an outcome beyond a few pages in. I managed to finish my first fic, Gatecrashers only because of two things. One, the overall mood was quite silly, which allowed me to throw around extra ideas that could actually work. Two, I had material to work with heavily, both from the show to plumb the depths of Pinkie's canon psyche, and from my own ideas of how she would react to a human problem in a human situation (as in, without a group-hug-easy solution). What did I have for material this time? A dream.

That's right. I dreamed the first chapter-and-a-half, and with some editing to make sense in the real world and improve the flow I converted the entire thing into text. It's the result of my first (and so far only) pony dream. By its very nature this story was draining, since I was using a character filled with years of spiraling depression and a sucking need for emotional support. The main guy also counts a bit, since he's got some dark history and a generally bad attitude about the whole affair. I won't go into detail, and I'll try to stay away from complaining, but I haven't been up to any writing for a couple of months. This story sealed the deal just by being itself, and I'm regretfully burying it. Not that it's guaranteed to stay dead for all time, but I've got to get going on something that doesn't involve the feeling of "I've got to get this right or I'll be writing something awful and failing my potential." So, on to other endeavors.

I've done some writing in the original realm, dealing with science fantasy (Yes, that's a legitimate genre, I believe.) and other silliness. If you like my style but don't want to worry about following a story that never comes through, I can easily give you a link, though I won't do so unless asked, for manners' sake. But for Pony World writing, I have yet to come up with anything that I considered worth starting before finishing H. P. & H. But now that is out of the way, I can consider beginning again with something a little easier.

That said, I ask you to give me feedback on some story possibilities. I've got a whole list of them floating around in my head/hard drive, and I'd like to see what you, dear readers, think sounds fun. This is mostly just based on the titles, since I often craft a story around the title instead of the other way around.
