Up and front, here is chapter 1
I've been keeping you all in the dark for far too long concerning what it is exactly I'm working on. So here's the lowdown.
It's an adventure fic starring Lyra and Octavia of grand proportions. What starts as Lyra having a lack of inspiration leads to her seeking her answers from a culture of warrior poets (think like the Nords of Skyrim) to the far north of Equestria known as Reindinhal. There's only so much I can tell you but I can promise you it starts out like a hobbit-esque adventure just getting there, and turns into an Elder Scrolls style of adventure as Lyra and Octavia get swept up in unraveling dark secrets about the land that go back thousands of years.
And it's being called "Where the World Ends: Songs of the Frost."
The prefix is because it's apart of a greater world-development by the ever-awesome Henrik Lissner who created the Equestria and Beyond Map for his grand epic that will be called Where the World Ends. My story is one within the same extended fiction context. The extent of the world building is so great, there's even a wiki about it
Anyway, I wish I could really tell you more about it. But !!!OMG SPOILERS!!!! However. for you're delight, I have made a map of Reindinhal (which will be included in the next revision of the Equestria and Beyond Map) and my friend Silent But Beardly has been working on some cover art for it as well to help give you an idea:
Also, there is no shipping in the story, nor will Lyra or Octavia follow their fanon traits. These are my takes on both of them with plenty of room for development during the adventure and to show how a friendship between them would be like as they put themselves in harms way.
All of the first five chapters will launch simultaneously when i feel they're ready. They're going through extensive revision and editing to also hopefully be EQD worthy. Chapter 1 is DONE, Chapter 2 and 3 are seeing revision, 4 needs some work, and 5 is halfway written. Expect about 35k+ reading from the get go.
Well I read the first the chapter of it, and the old stallion reminded me of the Greek Gods, who would grant wishes and such to people who were kind to them. I'm interested in seeing where this goes, especially with the mention of all of those different creatures, it looks like Lyra and Octavia are going to have some rough times ahead of them.
You didn't draw any inspiration for the title from Shel Silverstein as well did you?

Don't worry, there's going to be plenty of new things they'll come across . Races, creatures, you name it. Some of it insight into the grander picture that is the world beyond Equestria as well as even Reindinhal.

Ahh, Where the Sidewalk Ends? Well I can tell you the prefix is not my design, that's Henrik's as again, this is all taking place within his expanded fiction to Equestria and the world beyond. The "Songs of the Frost" was me basing the title off of the duet song between Malukah and Miracle of Sound known as "Legends of the Frost"
