Ditzy Doo Cover Page · 9:18pm Feb 2nd, 2012
So, I've been in talks with Sw1tchbl4de, who is responsible for the wonderful cover art seen on Fallout: Equestria side stories such as Project Horizons, Tales of a Courier, Broken Steel and Heroes. He's got other projects going on right now, but has welcomed me to commission one for the Ditzy Doo Chronicles, provided I can be patient and wait for him to finish his other work first. In the mean time, I want to know what you, my readers, think the cover page should look like. I have a couple ideas of my own already, but I was never all that inclined artistically, and was looking for some additional input. If you like either of the ideas I've come up with, or want to pitch an idea of your own, please leave a comment on this blog post or send me a private message.
My first idea is this: The story itself is set over the course of 200 years, so a single scene cover page didn't seem like it would be sufficient. Instead, I was thinking about a collage of smaller scenes (or maybe just other ponies). There would probably be one for each major section of the story (6 total; Immediately after the holocaust, then 40, 80, 120, 160 and 202 years later).
The other possibility I thought of was much simpler; a horizontally aligned cover page that is in keeping with the idea that the story itself is written as a book by Ditzy Doo herself. The idea for that one would be Pre-war Dtizy standing face to face with her ghoul self, with a megaspell detonation in the background.
Again, feel free to put forth any suggestions you might have regarding this undertaking (I always have an ear open to my readers). If you happen to pitch an idea that I like enough to use for the cover page, you will receive proper credit for the idea ^^ All comments, suggestions, ideas or opinions are welcome on this one.
