So much hype I can't stand it!

The dark crystal age of resistance looks so good! I won't tell you why that something you'll have to find out for yourself.

Whatever happened to Wolves?

Could you elaborate further?:rainbowhuh:

4373916 Well we've seen everything else but real wolves. I mean where are they? Do they have there own kingdom? Are they in a faraway land?

4373979 ah, good question; maybe they live in a small isolated region or are outcasts for some reason; pretty much following the saying "Lone Wolf"

Wolf is a symbol of guardianship, ritual, loyalty, and spirit.

Maybe a powerful artifact cursed them or backfired causing a large majority to be turned into what we know as timber wolfs; those who did not turn for some reason(where inside the monastery or whatever), make it their sworne duty to guard the place so it doesn't repeat; as they guarded the artifact so shall their children, and their children's children.
So they're pretty much warrior monks.

4374431 thanks, now my question for you is, where you talking about the show or the fanbase:twilightblush:

With wolves I'm not entirely sure, but personally i believe that their are wolves, but they aren't really mentioned or shown. They are ordinary animals and there are plenty of animals not shown in the show (I may be wrong but i believe there haven't been any foxes either). My reasoning behind this is the Timberwolves, their names specifically. If there were no wolves then the name Timberwolf would be quite the jump, they are specifically named that being wolves made from "timber" (wood in general but... puns). Without wolves being present in verse then they could have been named a variety of other things based on a relatively close animal they do have, or just simply Woodbeast if you want to be uncreative as hell.

Speaking of timberwolves, i personally felt of them as, for a lack of a better word, golems, created by the everfree to protect the forest like antibodies protecting a body. The reason why they are aggressive towards ponies is because the everfree is naturally wild and "free", working as a balance of order and chaos, more along the lines of our nature (with the addition of magical creatures). Ponies and their magic on the other hand are aligned strongly with order (pinkie excluded) and shape nature thusly.

Zecora is both able to live their and have visitors, along with other encounters involving ponies (CMC), without drawing Timberwolves because they are adhering to one simple rule, "respect nature and nature will respect you". While Zecora may follow this mindset on purpose, the other encounters occurred simply because they didn't even attempt to do anything to effect/change the Everfree.

Though with the apple family they did "steal" fruit from the everfree and cultivate their own zap apples, they are unable to cultivate and harvest them in their normal manner, and must adhere to the trees special nature, even this has drawn the attention of the timber wolves though.

If you watch the episode where it shows granny smith finding the first zap apples in a flash back, the Timberwolves didn't turn up until she started packing multiple apples to take out of the woods. This could be caused by one of two possibilities, one is take only what you need to survive, and two is that she intended to take them out of the forest to grow in a controlled manner. The first is is so-so, while it is true for some animals, others hoard food to survive long periods such as winter hibernation, the second reason though defies the everfree's nature and therefore more likely. This is most likely what draws the timberwolves back to the farm whenever the zap apples are about to form.

The timberwolves being the equivalent of the Everfree's antibodies would explain why they don't leave the forest, and the furthest they go is the outskirts. They are a part of the forest and need to be in it to exist. just like the antibodies of a person. Blood samples are a middle ground since blood is still part of the body. Following this thought process, if some plants from the everfree were planted close enough to the forest it might expand how far timber wolves could travel (though the everfree would not like this and send timberwolves to attack you... the irony). Plunder vines don't count since they were discords creation and not originally part of the forest.

Wow, sorry for the wall of text :twilightsheepish:, i first intended to type a short answer about wolves and ended up rambling on about timberwolves :facehoof:. i have a tendency to start going in depth on tangent thoughts. Cheers if you read the whole thing though

4389159 Np I liked how you explained everything. ^^
