) Need...To...Blog... (Have a question regarding DiamondBloom's Hangout Time) · 2:16am Jan 5th, 2017
I have been hit with the compulsion to write a blog. It has been a little while since my last one, Christmas day to be precise, and since then I have not published any content for you guys to enjoy. I am, however, not obliged to apologize for this, but I do wish to say that I had quite an enjoyable, if albeit a bit short for my liking, holiday.
So far, I am staying true to the schedule I have set up for myself in this community, which I have made a general outline in one of my other blog posts. We will see just how long I can keep up the schedule. I'm betting on a month, tops. 
Just joshing about that; really, if I really do, it won't be for a lack of trying. It will have just meant that real life got in the way, and I might be a day or two late on my uploads.
Which I had purposely left out to be vague on the specific day or upload. I have since then decided that I should do it on either Friday or Saturday, as the weekend is just starting then and several people will get a chance to look at my works then. This does mean that any one-shots I produce will either be published coinciding my main stories, or be pushed to the middle of the week.
Let's talk about my works a little bit. I have three main stories I'm working on my self and an additional one that I have cowriting with another user (this surprise will be revealed when the story is ready to go up). I'm not sure if I mentioned before that my surprise story was a collaboration project, but I am now.

We still have some hashing out to do for the collab, but we have the main plot of the story written down. It will be a small project, very likely three-to-five chapters long, give or take depending on how in depth the plot gets. I won't say much, but I believe we have decided to mainly feature Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle, so expect it to range somewhere between lighthearted and serious.
I'm Not a Pony
I haven't yet started writing anything down yet, but the idea came from a collage of stories - self-inserts, crossovers, completely off the wall things that make absolutely no sense (like somepony is a freaking tank!)
Then, due to circumstance and communication with others, it has progressed to this sad narrative I wish to express. This is mostly in honor of some person. I now wish to write this to express my narrative, my story. This is not strictly a self-insert story. But this will present an original character whom has a ball of emotion that has likeness to my own in some fashion.
And for those of you who hate self-inserts to the point where even if its a minor one, fear not. I shall try to put a spin on it that shall prove to be entertaining.
The specific genre will be a tragic comedy, but will be more sad than comedic in nature so it will get the sad tag.
A Diamond For Your Trouble
I feel I am approaching somewhere in the mid point of this story. I could have very well added more content to this and drag it out to about 100-150k words if I wanted, but in light of my recent pet project coinciding with this story, I am adjusting my pacing to match the progress of the project. I don't want to be too far behind in the story when the project is finally released, because it for a very specific scene. Fear not, for I don't want it to go too fast either to where the scene already takes place before the project is released. I want them to be released the same day in the perfect world.
My adjustment to the narrative should not disrupt the flow of what has already happened by a significant margin. I'm not going to allow myself to create plot holes or gloss over scenes as might be the tendency for some writers. I would rather take out the scene altogether if it wasn't important enough for me to write about, or find a way to combine it with another scene to make it more impactful on the narrative as a whole.
That being said, the next chapter should prove to be an interesting one indeed. I am not certain where exactly I want to go with it yet, but Diamond Tiara will definitely have her conversation with her mother. Sorry, I like leaving y'all in suspense. 
DiamondBloom's Hangout Time
I have ramped down my release rate of chapters on this story. No, this does not mean I am already running out of ideas. It was always going to be like this, a side project of mine to post one-shots when I have some down time and I don't feel like writing big stuff.
Even though it's not one of my major projects, I would feel like I did a disservice to it if I didn't add it in here somewhere, and I felt that I needed some kind of honorable mentions in here somewhere.
I have some pretty special ideas for this story still in the back of my head. One chapter in particular was almost posted before Christmas actually, but I instead released a holiday chapter that seemed to be pretty well received, and it seemed more appropriate.
I am actually generally surprised by how well received the story is in general. At first, I thought it wouldn't be well received at all (I mean in stories like this I like to go completely off the wall and write...well...weird stuff. Thankfully, I didn't dive into my random nature too much here.) I am sure I'll have at least one chapter that has everyone going... 
While we are on the subject of content for DiamondBloom's Hangout Time, I had a question regarding the story in general. I am thinking that I should do something very special either every 5 chapters or every 10 chapters. Although, I am short on ideas on what kind of special I should do. Is there anything specific that y'all would like to see in these special chapters that you wouldn't normally see in its other chapters? Like more fluff, or completely off the wall, or.... [your answers here]. I have one idea that I could do, like a talk show similar to what one person did a couple of years ago on their blog site, where they posted a comic every once in a while. Although, I'm not too certain if I should do something like that or not. maybe one chapter of something like that.
Cuddle Sweet Cuddle & Other Future Projects
I don't have much to mention here other than the fact that over the holidays I read some really cute stuff and I wanted to write at least one story that was like that. So far, I have nothing other than the title of said cute fic, which would be taking the phrase "Home, Sweet Home" and inserting Cuddle instead of Home. I'll hash out the details of this later; this may end up in the DiamondBloom's Hangout Time story in one form or another if I don't come up with a compelling backdrop for my setting.
I don't have any other future projects at the moment, but as "I'm Not a Pony" and "???" will be on the short side, I will have to come up with some more ideas to fill those slots soonish.
Last, but not least...
Order of Harmony
There's a lot to say about this story. I am hoping to make this story into an multi-book epic. I seem to be setting myself up to make that happen. I will try to make my "seasons" 13-14 chapters long, with one-to-two parters at the beginning and/or the end of the season. I'm also shooting for about 65k-98k words per book. Maybe longer depending on how slow or fast the pacing of my story turns out. There are specific events I want to happen in each book, however, which outlines each "season".
The central character in this book series will be Starlight Glimmer, although all of the mane 6 are integral characters to the plot as well. Later on, all of the princesses will become important as well, although I won't go into too much detail as to why.
I'm scheduling the release of this story to be either Friday or Saturday of this week. I am going to try really hard to get this story into the featured box at some point, so I'm aiming pretty high on this one. I know that's a tall order for me who only has a few stories under my belt on this site so far, but it's not like I'm a new writer by any stretch of the imagination, and the genre of this story is by far my most comfortable genre to write (Action/Adventure/Fantasy). You might take notice in this when you read it. Hehe.
Wow, sorry for the long ramble guys. I had a lot of stuff on my mind apparently.
