Someone sent me a suggestion for a story idea, or at least the start of one. It's kind of interesting, so I thought I would share it here. I am leaving the name out, in case they don't want it known, but they can post to claim credit if they like.
Someone should do a story, where in the first chapter, Shining has an epic battle with Cryslis and Sombra or some other epic team of villainy, and comes to some amazing new defensive magic to save the ones he loves most. Like Twilight with this new magic, and the realization of just what it means to be committed in totality to defend family, he ascends to become…to his great surprise, Princess Gleaming Shield. After all, there are no male Alicorns. It would make a fun comedy.
It is an interesting idea, and could lead to some fun plots and such, no matter the rating (although I would probably go with M and include the "Sex" tag). I don't know about the comedy part though. At least if I were to write it. I'm not saying I wouldn't write it. It is tempting and I might add it to the list. However, it also seems to interesting to rely just on me to write. So if someone else wants to, go for it.
There are no male alicorns. It's a well-kept secret that there are no female alicorns, either.
I always liked the idea that the alicorns not only unify the three tribes, but also the two genders.
