Greetings fellow readers!
Solaris Night writes to you with a request.
You see in order for me to write my stories I usually also like to listen to music while I am doing my job. The songs help me come up with different scenarios for my stories as well as new stories themselves.
So here is my request.
I would like for you to write me any song suggestions, since my library isn't that big, you think is awesome.
Some rules though. I am picky when it comes to food and songs so there are many things I look for in a song.
1. No dubstep, electronics, drum and bass or anything similar. I hate that genre. Although there are exceptions (which will be explained in the next rule).
2. Lyrics are mandatory. I like to listen to a song and have it convey some form of message, even if it is counted up above. So if there is a dubstep with good lyrics I might listen to it.
3. I like to listen to any genre, but my favorite are Rock and Metal.
4. This one might make some upset, but let me just say upfront, I like the music from the previous decades, they have some of the best songs I have ever heard. However I must ask you not to send me any of the songs from the older bands like AC/DC, Metalica, Guns'n'Roses etc. But if you really feel like I should listen to some of their songs I won't stop you. In fact I might even enjoy them, like I did Don't stop me now by Queen.
5. The song must be energetic or at least make me feel alive. So no songs that have an acoustic guitar and the singer sings in a soft tone how his love ran away and shit.
To better help you get what kind of taste I have here are some of the songs I listen to when I write my stories.

Blue Stahli- Takedown, Ultranumb
Cult to follow- 10 Seconds from panic (current favorite), Murder melody, Leave it all behind
Daiki Kusho- Soul on display
Papa Roach- Warriors (my favorite all time)
Slipknot- Before I forget
Thousand Foot Crutch- Untraveled road, Giving up the ghost, Courtesy call
The Used- Revolution

The opening makes it seem like it would break rule #5, but please listen to the whole thing before judging it.
4296442 Not exactly my cup of tea, but a good song non the less. I'll try listening to it during my writing and maybe I'll come to like it more.
4296797 I guess it's not for everyone, the only reason I decided to suggest it despite knowing it wasn't exactly in line with your tastes is because of rule #2, in that you find the message and lyrics to be important factors in your song choices.
I imagine this song would go well for stories that follow the 'some have greatness thrust upon them' trope, where the character refuses to 'be a hero' in favor of living a normal life, but events conspire to make them become one regardless of their own will.
...Okay, that went waaay more in depth than it should have. I need some sleep.
