Considerations

Alright, so after a lot of fuckshit occurring in my life I decided to take up reading and writing. This, however, left me thirsty for more. I want to make an effort to write fan fiction; but, this leaves me with visitation considerations such as: What the hell am I gonna write about? I want to do a crossover with my own continuity; I might, and this confuses me. Would it even be appropriate to cross a world as Equestria with something of my own creation or will I be as hated as Sergeant Sprinkles? I haven't been in touch with the fandom for the past few years. But, I would remember no one likes the guy who throws mlp into the darkness.
If anyone wants to give me their opinion or if you want one of my stories to form a more mature opinion on things then hit me up.
