Entry #14- Tall Tales? · 4:57pm Sep 17th, 2016
Ugh, with all that happened last weekend, updating this Blog just wasn’t in the cards then. I was out all day Saturday, and had to work pretty much all day Sunday, and of course I couldn’t manage to finish the extra work I assigned myself the prior week so I wouldn’t have to worry about that weekend.
But let’s move on from that and focus on happier things, like my thoughts on three more episodes of Season 6.
A Hearth's Warming Tail- I really don’t mind A Christmas Carol being told over and over again, because it’s an interesting story format. (My favorite version is Muppet Christmas Carol, which I watch every December.) This version fit well into Equestria’s lore, and we got to know a little more about Equestria’s history, which is fun. I really like the costumes, too: I’d love to do a group Cosplay of those outfits for a winter pony convention one day.
The Saddle Row Review- It’s really fun to do a different story format once in awhile, which is probably one of the reasons this is one of my favorite episodes this season. (And yes, I’m all caught up except for the episode that premiered this morning, Viva Las Pegasus.) It’s interesting that the Mane Six were all trustworthy neigh-rators, as a lot of the time a story from different characters’ perspectives has lies in them. The Mane Six confessed all as it happened. They’re such good mares.
Applejack’s Day Off- I don’t feel that way myself, but I know some people don’t enjoy just sitting still for long periods of time. With all the farm work AJ does, it probably keeps her in shape and gives her a lot more stamina than the average pony. So I can see not wanting to wait when she can possibly fix the problem.
But for such a good problem solver she sure is blind to the extra work she gave herself on the farm. Maybe when you get into the routine of something, you don’t consciously think about what you’re doing after a point.
Well, that’s it for this week’s episode thoughts. Here’s hoping I get time to update this Blog next week- or better yet, finish the short story I’m working on.
